Water Purity
Water Purity is a new property of items that contain water, such as buckets, bowls or bottles. There are 4 levels of purification, which indicate how harmful consuming the item might be.
The level of purity depends mostly on where the water was harvested. In general, source blocks mean stagnating water, which stimulates the growth of bacteria. Because of this, flowing water (non-source blocks) has a +1 purity level compared to its still counterpart.
Height also plays a role: water harvested from source blocks in mountains (above Y: 100) or caves (below Y: 48) will be Slightly Dirty, while source blocks anywhere else will be Dirty. The process of harvesting water can be automated with a dispenser.
Sickness is a combination of nausea and hunger status effects, that has a chance to get to the player if they drink non-purified water.
- Dirty water has a 100% chance of inflicting the sickness effect, plus a 30% chance of being poisonous.
- Slightly Dirty water has a 50% chance of inflicting the sickness effect, plus a 10% chance of being poisonous.
- Acceptable water has a 5% chance of inflicting the sickness effect.
- Purified water never inflicts sickness on the player.
