Purification

Campfires and Furnaces

After harvesting water, to avoid sickness, a player can purify water, in any vessel, both on a campfire or in a furnace. If boiled on a campfire, water will get a +1 purification level. Doing so at higher temperatures, in a furnace, will instead purify it by 2 levels.

Using a bucket is the most efficient way of purifying water, as it holds the equivalent of 3 bottles. However, since a player can't drink directly from a bucket, the water will need to be dumped in a cauldron and picked back up with bottles.

Create Purification

If Create is installed, a new contraption will appear in the creative menu: a Sand Filter.

This block can receive water from a pipe pointing on the top side, which will be filtered out (a +1 purification level) and can be pumped out from the bottom. Keep in mind that since the sand filter counts as a tank, a mechanical pump is needed to extract the purified water from the bottom.

Below are some contraptions you can build to purify water:

multiple purifiers. This setup can filter dirty water all the way to purified.
