• After a server operation was cancelled (Esc while a server folder was loading, Cancel during a download or upload), OriCmd kept two processor cores busy until it was quit, even while doing nothing. Fixed.
• Server commands no longer lose the last part of their output now and then; this could leave a file out of a server listing.
• Command line: a failed command shows what it wrote, not only "Exit status 1". A program started in the background (… &) is no longer killed when it writes an error message after the shell has ended.

• An item that cannot be copied or moved no longer stops the whole operation: you are asked what to do — Skip, Skip All, Retry or Cancel.
• Finder's .DS_Store files inside copied folders are skipped by default. The option is in the F5/F6 dialog (Options >>) and in Settings → Operations. A .DS_Store you select yourself is still copied.

Fixes

• Copying to a network drive (a NAS with Samba) no longer fails with "…/.DS_Store: No such file or directory". .DS_Store, Thumbs.db and desktop.ini files the server does not accept are skipped. Any other name the server refuses is reported as such ("the server does not accept this name").

• Duplicates: files with the same name, size or contents, shown in groups.

Archives

• Encrypted zip archives: the password is asked for when unpacking or opening a file inside, checked before anything is written and kept until quitting.
• Alt+F5 Pack…: compression level, move to archive, one archive per file or folder, a password for zip (AES-256 or ZipCrypto).
• Alt+Shift+F9 Test Archives: the archives are read through and their checksums checked.
• Solid RAR 4 archives are read through The Unarchiver when it is installed (brew install unar).

Tabs and selection

• Locked tabs (Lock Tab; Lock Tab, Allow Folder Changes) and renamed tabs (Rename Tab…), kept between launches.

The viewer (F3) shows much more

• Web pages and Markdown. HTML files open as pages and Markdown files as documents: tables, colored code, task lists, pictures lying next to the file. 1 shows the source, 7 the page again.
• Formatting. F (or Format in the context menu) lays out JSON, XML, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS and HTML for reading, and stays on for the next files.
• 3D models. STL files, binary or text, open as a model to turn with the mouse. The wheel or a pinch brings it nearer, Option-drag or two fingers move it, a double click shows it as at first. Its size and number of triangles are in the title.
• E-books. FB2 (also .fb2.zip), EPUB, MOBI, AZW, AZW3 and PRC open to read, with chapters, notes, pictures and the cover. Contents in the context menu jumps to a chapter. Books protected by DRM are said so.
• DjVu. Documents show their pages when DjVuLibre is installed (brew install djvulibre), otherwise their text layer. F7 finds text in them.
• Tables. Excel 2003 XML files (whatever their name), HTML pages saved as .xls and CSV/TSV open as a grid with sheets, merged cells and dates. ⌘C copies rows.
• TypeScript. .ts files are shown as code, no longer taken for video.

Kept apart and locked

• Pages are shown with JavaScript off, and nothing is loaded from the network, not even a picture, so a page can't tell anyone it was opened.
• A page shows only files of its own folder, and a link opens in the browser only when you click it.
• Books, tables, models, Markdown and formatting are all read by the locked-down helper that does syntax highlighting. It has no files, no network and no other programs. OriCmd checks everything it answers, stops it when it takes too long, and it ends itself if it takes too much memory.
• DjVuLibre draws pages in a sandbox that can read nothing but its own libraries. The document is handed to it by OriCmd.
• The new readers went through three security reviews.

Panels

• Drive buttons. A right click gives the Finder's volume menu: open (also in a new tab or the other panel), Show in Finder, eject a disk or a disk image, rename, Get Info, copy the path.
• Many drives. When the drive buttons don't fit, they scroll with the wheel, the trackpad or the arrows at the ends.
• Tabs can be dragged along their bar, or onto the other panel's tabs. A server tab takes its connection and its running terminal along.
• Ctrl+Shift+← / Ctrl+Shift+→ (macOS keeps Ctrl+←/→ for its spaces) show in the other panel what is under the cursor:
  • a folder's or an archive's contents;
  • inside an archive, the same archive folder;
  • for a file, its folder with the file selected.

• DjVuLibre рисует страницы в песочнице, где может читать только свои библиотеки; документ ему передаёт OriCmd.
• Новые разборщики прошли три ревью безопасности.

Панели

• Кнопки дисков. Правый клик открывает меню тома как в Finder: открыть (и в новой вкладке, и в другой панели), показать в Finder, извлечь диск или образ, переименовать, свойства, скопировать путь.
• Много дисков. Когда кнопки дисков не помещаются, они прокручиваются колесом, трекпадом или стрелками по краям.
• Вкладки перетаскиваются по своей полосе и на вкладки другой панели. Серверная вкладка забирает с собой соединение и работающий терминал.

Syntax highlighting in the viewer (F3)

• Program code is shown in color, using highlight.js (about 190 languages).
• The language follows the file's extension, its name (Makefile, Dockerfile, .zshrc) or the program on its #! line.
• Assembly is told by its instructions: x86, ARM, MIPS or AVR.
• H and the text's context menu turn highlighting on and off. The choice is remembered.
• Colors follow Xcode's themes, light and dark. Texts up to about 512 thousand characters are highlighted.

Highlighting runs apart from OriCmd

highlight.js runs in a separate helper, OriCmdHighlighter, which locks itself down before it reads anything from OriCmd:

• no files, not even system ones;
• no network, no pasteboard, no opening of URLs;
• no starting other programs, no reaching other services.

Only texts in a language highlight.js knows are sent to it, never key, certificate or signature files. OriCmd checks everything it answers and stops it if a highlighting takes more than 5 seconds. A file made to attack the JavaScript engine can't take data off your Mac.

Security fix

• Earlier versions were signed with a debugging permission (get-task-allow). Another program running as you could attach to OriCmd and use its permissions, such as Full Disk Access. The permission is gone.
• Please update.

highlight.js работает в отдельном помощнике OriCmdHighlighter, который запирает себя прежде, чем прочтёт что-либо от OriCmd:

• никаких файлов, даже системных;
• ни сети, ни буфера обмена, ни открытия ссылок;
• ни запуска других программ, ни обращения к другим службам.

Ему отправляются только тексты на языках, которые знает highlight.js, и никогда — файлы ключей, сертификатов и подписей. OriCmd проверяет всё, что он отвечает, и останавливает его, если подсветка длится дольше 5 секунд. Файл, сделанный для атаки на движок JavaScript, не сможет вывести данные с вашего Mac.

Исправление безопасности

• Прежние версии были подписаны с правом отладки (get-task-allow). Другая программа, запущенная от вашего имени, могла подключиться к OriCmd и воспользоваться его разрешениями, например полным доступом к диску. Это право убрано.
• Рекомендуем обновиться.

Encodings in the Lister (F3)

• Keys: 8 UTF-8, U UTF-16, A Windows-1251, S DOS (866), K KOI8-R. They work on any keyboard layout.
• The text's context menu starts with Encoding. It lists all of these, plus Automatically, Mac Cyrillic, ISO-8859-5, Windows-1252 and Latin-1.
• The window title shows the encoding of the text, including one chosen automatically.
• An encoding you choose is kept for the next and previous files (N/P).
• When the encoding changes, the same line stays at the top.
• In hex or Quick Look, an encoding key shows the file as text.

UTF-16 files open as text

• UTF-16 files, often exported from Windows, are recognized with or without a byte order mark. Before, they opened as hex.
• Compare by Content reads them too.
• A large UTF-8 file cut at the Lister's 32 MB limit stays UTF-8.

• Контекстное меню текста начинается с подменю «Кодировка». В нём все эти кодировки, а также «Автоматически», Mac Cyrillic, ISO-8859-5, Windows-1252 и Latin-1.
• В заголовке окна видна кодировка текста, в том числе выбранная автоматически.
• Выбранная кодировка сохраняется для следующего и предыдущего файлов (N/P).
• При смене кодировки вверху остаётся та же строка.
• В hex или Quick Look клавиша кодировки показывает файл как текст.

Файлы в UTF-16 открываются как текст

• Файлы в UTF-16, часто выгруженные из Windows, распознаются с меткой порядка байтов и без неё. Раньше они открывались в hex.
• «Сравнить по содержимому» тоже правильно их читает.
• Большой файл в UTF-8, обрезанный на пределе просмотрщика в 32 МБ, остаётся в UTF-8.
