MIF v1.3.0

Added

• Container Profile (ADR-021) — an OPTIONAL, single-file *.corpus.json
  transport envelope that serializes a Bundle (or a subset of one) for wire
  transport: schema/container.schema.json, schema/container-context.jsonld,
  schema/document-reference.schema.json, scripts/validate_container.py,
  a container-validation CI job, a worked example under
  examples/container/, and docs/CONTAINER-PROFILE.md. Vendor-specific
  corpus metadata (compression manifests, version DAGs) routes through a
  generalized extensions mechanism rather than becoming native MIF
  vocabulary. Accepted and implemented in the same change (reframes
  issue #77).
• [Tooling]: scripts/check_relationship_type_vocab_coverage.py — cross-checks
  schema/context.jsonld's relationships.type.@context term mapping against
  public/ns/vocabulary.jsonld's registered rdfs:Class terms, guarding against
  the #230 defect class (a relationship-type term declared in one file but never
  wired to the other) recurring. Wired into the okf-conformance CI job. (#233)
• [Tooling]: scripts/test_temporal_and_properties.py (temporal-consistency
  and properties-construct regression suite) is now run in the okf-conformance
  CI job via pytest; previously it only ran if a contributor had pytest
  installed locally and remembered to invoke it by hand. (#235)

MIF v1.2.2

Fixed

• Release workflow: draft-first publication — the workflow now triggers
  on the version tag push, creates the release itself as a draft after all
  attestations verify fail-closed, uploads the attested artifacts to the
  draft, and publishes last via the release App identity. Under the repo's
  immutable-releases setting the previous publish-then-upload flow could
  never attach assets (HTTP 422 at upload); the v1.2.0 and v1.2.1 release
  slots remain published but assetless for this reason. v1.2.2 is the first
  release carrying its attested artifacts.

MIF v1.2.1

MIF specification v1.2.1, the attested release of the 1.2 line.

Carries everything in v1.2.0 (ontology schema 1.1.0 with the ADR-020 entity-type classification fields aliases, exemplars and negative_examples) plus three fixes: the release workflow no longer attempts a redundant SBOM attach under the read-only job token (the verified App-token upload publishes the SBOM), and the accessed citation term is typed xsd:date in both the JSON-LD context and the ns vocabulary, matching the schemas' format: date constraint (a YYYY-MM-DD value is not a valid xsd:dateTime lexical form).

The v1.2.0 tag remains in the repository; its release slot became unusable during failure recovery under immutable releases, so v1.2.1 is the release carrying attested artifacts for 1.2. The immutable public/schema/1.2.1/ mirror is published with latest/ and v1/ refreshed. Verification commands for the attested artifacts are in SECURITY.md.

v1.0.0

MIF 1.0.0 is the first stable release of the Modeled Information Format: an open standard for portable AI memory, knowledge and information.

Highlights

• Markdown-canonical concept files with a derived, lossless JSON-LD projection.
• The cognitive triad base taxonomy (semantic, episodic, procedural) with a three-tier trait system.
• Canonical JSON Schemas (2020-12) published under stable, resolvable $ids on mif-spec.dev, with versioned mirrors generated at build.
• Conformance levels 1 to 3, an OKF v0.1 conformance gate, and a lossless round-trip gate.
• The AI Memory profile, industry ontology examples, and the mif_convert tooling.

Verifying release artifacts

Each release artifact carries SLSA build provenance and a CycloneDX SBOM attestation. Download an artifact and verify it against its attestation:

The attestation is produced by the release workflow itself (.github/workflows/release.yml) using the run's GitHub Actions OIDC identity, so no --signer-workflow override is needed.
