icadkit v0.3.0
icadkit 0.3.0 extends native ICD inspection and viewing while retaining explicit support boundaries.
- Native viewer with part/property inspection, selection and visibility controls.
- Qualified V7L7/V8L3 boxes, cylinders, full spheres, circular cones/frusta and full ring tori.
- V8L1/V8L2 part inventories and binary attribute records retained with ownership and raw bytes.
- Optional bounded V7L7 CSG and saved final body display for V7L7/V8L3, including shared-resource placements and analytic surfaces.
- Updated exact V34 profile through parasolid-core 0.3.1, including qualified toroidal resources without a vendor catalog.
Install the reader and native viewer with pip install icadkit==0.3.0. For saved-body/CSG evaluation and resource preview, use pip install 'icadkit[preview]==0.3.0'.
V8L1/V8L2 remain inventory-only. Mirrors, typed attributes/BOM, external-file loading, drawings, whole-scene GLB and general history evaluation remain unsupported. Every native view is a partial model.
See the migration notes for primitive fields, coordinate conventions and the updated exact schema profile ID/hash.
v0.2.0
icadkit v0.1.0
First experimental release of icadkit, a Rust-based Python reader for selected iCAD SX .icd structures and embedded Parasolid resources.
Install from PyPI:
python -m pip install icadkit==0.1.0Supported operations include header inspection, owner-based resource listing, bounded raw/zlib X_B extraction, exact-schema raw geometry parsing, and resource-level B-Rep access. The Python API and CLI preserve source coordinates, unknown content and scope-specific diagnostics.
This release does not reconstruct complete iCAD models. Native iCAD primitives, part hierarchies, assembly placement, units, drawing interpretation, tessellation, STEP export and ICD writing are not supported. Some Parasolid schemas require an explicitly supplied compatible catalog. Successful resource extraction or B-Rep parsing does not establish whole-model completeness.
Wheels target standard GIL-enabled CPython 3.10–3.14 on Linux x86_64 (glibc 2.28+), Windows x86_64 and macOS ARM64 (11+). A source distribution is also available. iCAD, Wine and an external SDK are not required at runtime.
All four distributions are the exact files qualified and published by release run 35608608262 from commit 79ba6c1d813f3df5f32a50f0b0cfce8f2bc8e393. Their SHA-256 hashes match PyPI metadata. CI passed platform wheel installation, source rebuild, Rust/Python checks and package-content verification. A fresh Linux CPython 3.12 installation from PyPI also passed CLI inspection and the authored embedded-box comparison against an independent geometric reference using an explicit catalog.
