Matter Support

Before getting started with Matter on Homebridge Easy MQTT, please be sure you have read the general Homebridge Matter Support requirements and limitations.

Important Notes

• Matter is still a beta feature in Homebridge, so you may encounter issues
• Matter requires Homebridge v2.0 and Homebridge Easy MQTT v2.0.0 or later
• You must Enable Matter on the bridge that is running Homebridge Easy MQTT
• ⚠️ If you change a Homebridge Easy MQTT accessory Protocol from HomeKit to Matter (or vice versa), you will have to set up any Scenes or Automations again for that accessory

Supported Accessories

Here is the list of accessory types that currently support Matter:

• Lightbulb
• Outlet
• Switch

I can add other accessory types as needed, but it's labor-intensive. Please consider whether the currently supported accessory types can support your use case. If not, leave a comment on this ticket.

Unsupported Features

The following features are currently not supported, but could theoretically be added if there is a strong use case:

• Groups
• Lightbulb Colors
• Battery Level
• Power/Energy Usage

These features likely require additions to Homebridge — I can look into them if requested:

• Outlet InUse
• Availability

Additionally, History is not possible given that the Eve app uses the HomeKit protocol
