DockSettings v0.5
Changelog:
- Added support to retrieve inputs from local database files, instead of specifying them via Launch Options, by using option "-i".
- Added auto-update of official database.
Example of usage:
- /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -i & %command%
Local database files:
- Official database: is being downloaded and auto-updated in location /home/deck/Documents/docksettings_db.csv and it's being pulled directly from GitHub.
- Custom database: needs to be created in location /home/deck/Documents and needs to match filename docksettings_db*.csv (for example docksettings_db_custom.csv). Correct format for content is "{NameOfGame};{ConfigFileLocation};{GameExe}". It is also possible to use multiple custom database files.
Submitting entries to official database:
- You can submit your entries for official database usage via Google Sheets. Please refer to second sheet with name "How To Use" for details.
DockSettings v0.4
Changelog:
- Allowed usage of prefix STEAMAPPS for automatic detection of config file location (NVMe, SD card).
- Added support to restore backup of original config file, which have been taken during first run of DockSettings.
Example of usage:
- Autodetection of config file location: /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "STEAMAPPS/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
- Restore backup of original config file: /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "STEAMAPPS/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini" -r
DockSettings v0.3
Changelog:
- Added support for games which are incorrectly syncing config file to Steam Cloud, in addition to (expected) save file.
Steam Cloud should be normally used for syncing save game files only, however some games are breaking this functionality by syncing also config files. This results in having same graphics/system configuration when playing same game on multiple devices. DockSettings is normally executing itself when game is started, doing required syncing of config file and exiting still while game is starting. With newly added option -c "{GameExe}", DockSettings is running continuously, watching main game process until its exit and syncing config file to DockSettings directory only after you quit the game.
Example for game NieR Automata:
- Config file of NieR Automata is being identified as SystemData.dat
- When browsing personal Steam Cloud, we can confirm that config file SystemData.dat is also being synced to Steam Cloud
- Therefore we'll use following Launch options for game NieR Automata:
/home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "NieR Automata" -f "NVME/compatdata/524220/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/NieR_Automata/SystemData.dat" -c "NieRAutomata.exe" & %command%
DockSettings v0.2
Changelog:
- Changed usage of conditional parameters ($1, $2) to options (-n, -f) to allow more versatility in future.
- Allowed usage of prefixes (NVME, SD) as shortcuts to respective steamapps location on NVMe and SD card storage when specifying location of config file.
- Other minor changes (logging, help message, etc.)
Due to this changes, syntax of script needs to be updated from no longer valid:
- /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh "Resident Evil 2" "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
To one of the following valid options:
- /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
- /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "NVME/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
- /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "SD/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
Prefixes are being resolved to following paths:
- NVME: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps
- SD: /run/media/deck/{SDVolumeName}/steamapps (correct name of SD card volume is being automatically retrieved)
