Changelog:

  • Changed usage of conditional parameters ($1, $2) to options (-n, -f) to allow more versatility in future.
  • Allowed usage of prefixes (NVME, SD) as shortcuts to respective steamapps location on NVMe and SD card storage when specifying location of config file.
  • Other minor changes (logging, help message, etc.)

Due to this changes, syntax of script needs to be updated from no longer valid:

  • /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh "Resident Evil 2" "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"

To one of the following valid options:

  • /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "/home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
  • /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "NVME/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"
  • /home/deck/Documents/docksettings.sh -n "Resident Evil 2" -f "SD/common/RESIDENT EVIL 2 BIOHAZARD RE2/re2_config.ini"

Prefixes are being resolved to following paths:

  • NVME: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steamapps
  • SD: /run/media/deck/{SDVolumeName}/steamapps (correct name of SD card volume is being automatically retrieved)
