ContextPaste v0.3.0 — Context-Aware Auto-Paste
ContextPaste v0.3.0
The clipboard manager that reads your screen and pastes the right thing automatically.
New: Context-Aware Auto-Paste
When you press Ctrl+Shift+V, ContextPaste now:
- Reads the screen — detects what the focused app/field is asking for (via Windows UI Automation)
- Matches context — uses keyword analysis + content type inference to find the best clipboard item
- Auto-pastes if confident — pastes immediately and shows a small toast notification
- Falls back to overlay — if confidence is below threshold, shows the normal Quick Paste overlay
How It Works
Terminal asks: "Enter your GitHub token:"
→ ContextPaste reads "GitHub token" from the focused element
→ Matches to your most recent Credential item
→ Auto-pastes it (confidence: 85%)
→ Shows toast: "Auto-pasted: ghp_••••wxyz (85%)"
Paste Rules
Create custom rules in Settings > Auto-Paste:
- App pattern — regex match against app name (e.g.,
Terminal|cmd) - Window title pattern — regex match against window title
- Context pattern — regex match against screen text (e.g.,
password|token|secret) - Action — paste most recent item of a type, or a specific pinned item
Configuration
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Enable auto-paste | Off | Opt-in feature, must be enabled |
| Confidence threshold | 75% | Slider from 50% to 95% |
| Show toast | On | Notification after auto-paste |
Safety
- Credentials are NEVER auto-pasted — always shows overlay for sensitive items
- Low confidence = overlay — no guessing, falls back to manual selection
- Opt-in — disabled by default, enable in Settings > Auto-Paste
