This build represents the second playable milestone of the project.

The goal of the beta release is to address previously known issues stated in Alpha build.

  1. The compilation pipeline has been fixed.
The build process now converts all .glb/.gltf assets into .bam files before packaging. This avoids runtime loader registration issues caused by missing package metadata in the frozen .exe environment. The asset conversion step updates level metadata automatically, and the final build ships only native Panda3D .bam assets. Build-time GLTF tools are no longer included in the runtime package.

(Download the latest level file, level_model.glb, here before you compile the game and put the downloaded file in the level/test_level)
To convert all .glb/.gltf assets into .bam files, open the terminal and run:

python tool/convert_assets_to_bam.py

You will see the bam files generated in the level/test_level directory.

After the conversion is complete, compile the game by running:

python setup.py build_apps

Refer to this issue for detailed documentation: # Issue 48

Finally, open the generated build folder and run CophengenTrip.exe to launch the game.

  1. The walking sound effect has been added, and the playable walking area has been limited for demo purposes. This is due to the engine reaching its limitation when a large number of collision meshes are added to the level file.

  2. The level_model.glb/bam has problems with Node attaching the collision mesh and it is weirdly inconsistent.
