Conditions of Use

Effective date: September 1, 2026

These conditions cover your use of the Polyptych app for iPhone and iPad, published by David Galindo ("we"). By using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use it.

The App

Polyptych is provided free of charge. There is nothing to buy, no subscription, and no account to create.

We may change or discontinue the app, or these conditions, at any time. A changed version of these conditions will be published on this page with an updated effective date.

Your Pictures

What you show stays yours. We claim no rights over anything you show with Polyptych and we never receive a copy.

You are responsible for what you show. Only use pictures and videos you have the right to use, and remember that a show is meant to be looked at — what you choose will be visible to everyone around the devices, and a copy of it is sent to every device that joins. For a video that means the whole file.

Connecting Devices

Polyptych sends what you are showing directly to nearby devices over the local network. Anyone who can see the QR code on the hosting screen, or who is given the six-character code, can join and will receive the pictures — or the whole video file — in the show.

The code exists to keep two shows in the same room apart and to stop a passer-by joining by accident. It is not a security measure and is not meant to protect confidential material. Do not use Polyptych to show anything you would mind the people around you, or the owners of the other devices, keeping.

To let devices that are not Apple devices join, the hosting device also accepts a plain, unencrypted connection on the local network. The network you are on is therefore part of who you are trusting. See the Privacy Policy for what that does and does not change.

You are responsible for the devices you connect and for having permission to use them.

No Warranty

Polyptych is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.

In particular, laying several devices out to show one picture depends on the hardware in front of you: the screens may not line up perfectly, a device may drop off the network, and a show may not run in step. We do not guarantee any of it.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the app, including loss of data, loss of pictures, damage to devices, or anything shown to anyone as a result of using it.

Do not rely on Polyptych for anything that matters — it is a way of looking at pictures, not a tool for safety-critical, medical, professional or commercial use.

Your Own Devices

You are responsible for looking after your devices and your pictures, including keeping your own backups. Deleting the app deletes the shows saved inside it.

Governing Law

These conditions are governed by the laws of Spain, and any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Spain.
