Release list
Steam networking prototype.
- Switched the AppID from Churn Vector to Spacewars. This will let people who don't own Churn Vector to use it, I'm currently in the process of getting a real AppID from Steam!
- Server is now authoritative on cursor animations. It costs a bit of performance as now it's no longer waiting on mutex locks. Though allows animations to be more accurately displayed, and reduces network traffic.
Steam networking support.
- Now uses Steam's P2P networking features to connect instead of direct IPs.
This means there's no need for NAT punchthrough, or compromising your IP address to use this app.
Currently requires both parties to own Churn Vector, as I haven't got a unique steam ID yet.
Animation customization support!
Added the ability to customize both cursor and cursor animation. Added instructions and more information on the readme: https://github.com/naelstrof/laser_pointer?tab=readme-ov-file#customizing-the-cursor
Animated cursors. Code cleanup.
- Added the ability to right-click in order to switch frames on the cursor sprite-sheet. Only two frames are supported at the moment.
laser_pointer_fysPW8CsxX.mp4
Code clean-up that has improved the server's resilience to being sent bad image data.
64x64 pointers are now supported.
Changed the default pointer to be more obvious what color it is as well.
