A light theme, your own app colours, clickable Top 10 bars, loading skeletons, and a pager that goes straight to any page.

What's new

  • Light theme. Settings → Theme: Dark, Light, or Use Windows setting (which keeps following Windows' app mode). Its own design, not the dark theme inverted: a pale grey canvas under white cards, borders and real shadows, hover as elevation (cards rise, chips and buttons lift), text colours measured for contrast, the accent deepened to read as text on white, and a heat map that runs light to dark. App colours are clamped darker, so near-white brand colours stay visible. Switching repaints at once. Dark stays the default.
  • Choose any app's colour. The rename flyout has Windows' colour picker, whose hex box takes a brand's exact code, and "Default colour" to go back. Stored in the database beside renames, so it is backed up and survives a Windows reset.
  • Top 10 bars open the app. Click a bar to go to that app's page; the tooltip says so and the pointer turns to a hand.
  • Loading skeletons. A page that is opening shows its skeleton instead of a spinner: the page's own layout code run on stand-in data, so nothing moves when the real data arrives.
  • Go to any page of the run history. Newest and Oldest, Newer and Older, the page numbers around the current one, and a "Go to page" box.

Install or update

Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11, x64. Nothing else is needed: the build carries its own .NET and Windows App SDK.

  1. Download DataUsage-0.2.0-win-x64.zip below and extract it.

  2. In the extracted folder, run:

    powershell -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -File .\Install.ps1

Updating from 0.1.0 is the same command. Your data folder is kept, and the database gains its new table on the next collection.

  3. Windows asks for administrator approval once, to register the two scheduled tasks. When updating, -SkipTasks skips that, since the tasks are unchanged.

See the 0.1.0 release or the README for the details of what the installer does. The app is not code-signed; Install.ps1 clears the "downloaded from the internet" mark on the files it installs.
