4.0 Control Software

  • In the previous step, you should've downloaded the latest firmware and control software, if not, download it here

  • Once unpacked you should find an exe called WeeKey Control, you can move that directory anywhere you like, but when ready double click the exe to run it and you should see it in your hidden apps tray like so:

  • Currently, it will not do anything but right clicking with reveal a sub menu that shows the following options:

  • Those settings do the following:
  1. Show notifications is mostly used for debugging but allows you to see what action is run when pressing a key or viewing error messages when something goes wrong
  2. Open config will open the configuration yml file in your OS' default yml editor. For specifics on what you can do and how to do it, you can read the instructions within the yml file.
  3. Exit will close the program.
  • If you think the control software is missing a preset you would like, open an issue in the issue's tab with the new action preset label.

  • Of course you're not just limited to what exists in the control program. You can place a # at the beginning of the line of say F13 and assign it to mute or deafen in discord.

4.1 Assembly

  • Now finally assembly time, within the mounting stems are 2.8mm holes intended to fit M3 thread screws. I'm aware not everyone will have an M3 tap but if you do, nows the time to whip it out otherwise, they should be large enough to be able to screw into directly. Before you slide the enclosure on, you should either tap or directly screw into the plastic to get it started.
  • With pilot holes sorted, it's now time to slide the enclosure on and screw it in.

to prevent it sliding around you can always print off a few small strips of TPU or some adhesive backed rubber pads to help stabilise the pad.
