Guttered 0.7.0
Guttered 0.7.0 replaces the custom diff panel with VS Code’s native diff views. Syntax highlighting now follows installed language grammars, the working file’s language mode, and editor token-color rules, including Clojure .clj, .cljc, and .cljs files.
- Native diff editor is the default. Compare inline or side by side, use VS Code’s undoable Revert Block/Selection actions, and open the working file or copy the change’s patch from the toolbar.
- Inline Quick Diff (Experimental) previews changes inside the file, with Guttered-specific Revert Change, Copy Patch, and Full Diff actions. Git remains available in the same baseline selector. A hover action or injected glyph click may initially select Git; choose Guttered merge base in the preview’s dropdown. The native full diff always opens Guttered’s comparison directly.
- Gutter clicks (Experimental) can open either selected view with a plain left click. The optional Guttered Workbench companion installs and restores the desktop-client hook from Windows/WSL, SSH, or container windows. Breakpoints and gutter context menus remain available.
Run Guttered: Select Diff View to switch modes. Quick Diff and the workbench hook remain opt-in. The hook modifies a desktop VS Code file, may trigger an installation-integrity warning, and must be restored with Disable Gutter Clicks and Restore Workbench before uninstalling.
Install Guttered from the Marketplace or use guttered-0.7.0.vsix below. For remote workspaces, install Guttered remotely. To manage the hook from those windows, install Guttered Workbench or guttered-workbench-0.7.0.vsix locally in the Windows/desktop client. The helper is optional when the hook was already enabled in a local window. Keep both versions matched and reload VS Code after upgrading.
Documentation includes new native Clojure screenshots, the Quick Diff selector, and Windows/WSL setup. The separate syntax worker and grammar dependencies have been removed.
Validation: 62 unit tests, TypeScript/build and package checks, desktop integration on VS Code 1.95.3 and 1.141.0, native Clojure colors and diff actions, and two-host remote glyph clicks with breakpoint/context-menu preservation. Attached SHA-256 checksums identify the exact published packages.
