OpenSplit 26.5.15

OpenSplit is a fast Windows terminal harness for AI coding agents and developer shells. It supports right-click pane splits, tool switching, SSH session inheritance, working-directory inheritance, and xterm-powered terminal panes in a native Tauri app.

Highlights

  • Auto-detects installed AI CLIs including opencode, Codex, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Kimi Code, aider, cursor-agent, ShellGPT, and the system shell.
  • Right-click any pane to split horizontally or vertically.
  • Switch a pane to another detected tool without changing the layout.
  • Respawns a shell when a launched tool exits, so panes do not go blank.
  • Inherits SSH sessions into new splits when possible.
  • Opens new splits in the current working directory when detectable.
  • Includes copy/paste, activity indicators, settings, default-tool persistence, and window-size persistence.
  • Augments PATH for GUI-launched sessions so common user install locations like npm, Cargo, Bun, Scoop, pnpm, and local bin directories are available.
