0.17.0
- omdrop-core by default, wherever the radio backend supports it. Omdrop runs as omdrop-core, its Rust version, with a supported radio backend, and as its bash and Python programs with others. Today omdrop-core supports omdrop-awdl; omdrop-owl follows once it ships core's hooks (#73). With a supported backend,
omdrop setupandomdrop doctoroffer omdrop-core, and list it under "To do:", because the Python version is going away.omdrop install-coreinstalls it: from your package repositories when they carry this version, and otherwise built from the plugin'score/. Once it is installed, the plugin hands every command to it, including the panel's (#74, #76). - Only a core this release can use gets commands. omdrop-core's
omdropnow sits at/usr/lib/omdrop-core/omdrop, offPATH, so the plugin'somdropis the one command and decides whether core runs. An omdrop-core older than 0.1.3 gets none: the bash and Python programs run instead, andomdrop doctorsays how to update it.OMDROP_IMPLEMENTATION=pythonkeeps the bash and Python programs;OMDROP_IMPLEMENTATION=rustrefuses to run without a usable core (#79). The command moves to/usr/bin/omdroponce the Python version is superseded (#73, step 8). - omdrop-core drives omdrop-awdl's hooks, and keeps the driver current. omdrop-awdl 0.10.0 installs hooks in
/usr/lib/omdrop/radio/, which core drives directly.omdrop doctorreports a driver older than the release needs, andomdrop install-driverupdates it (#78). - Driver 0.10.0.
omdrop install-driverbuilds omdrop-awdl 0.10.0. - Receiver readiness on Debian and Ubuntu. The readiness checks work there (#53, @wuharu999), compare versions without
vercmp, and check the receiver's libraries with the interpreter the receiver runs (#77). - Tests: the
test_sendname-lookup tests no longer race bash's whole-second clock (#76).
To upgrade:
omarchy plugin update netmojo.omdrop --yes # skips the pager that shows the whole diff
omarchy-restart-shell
omdrop install-core # if your radio backend supports omdrop-core
omdrop install-driver # on a Mac, rebuild the driver if needed
