Release list
konnect-codex v0.12.1
konnect-codex plugin v0.12.1 - companion revision 1
This release is reviewed specifically for
Konnect v0.12.1 at
commit fa62e1ccb9eba359519bf8e3eab53a6cffeee33c.
Upstream v0.12.1 integration
- Rebased the exact 17-file upstream guidance baseline and reviewed all three
changed skill assets. - Reclassified
flip_componentas live-IPC-preferred with a guarded
closed-board fallback. KiCad 10.0.6+ now performs the native transform,
including 3D-model offsets and rotations; older live endpoints fail closed
withunsupported_capability. - Integrated the safer placement contract: the force-directed planner is
deprecated and diagnostic-only, while decoupling plans require exact
capacitor references and refuse blocked, out-of-bounds, or non-improving
application. - Integrated atomic junction evidence for batch schematic placement through
junctions_added_countandjunctions_pruned_count. - Confirmed that the reliability-contract reference missing from v0.12.0 is
now present in the upstream release package.
Companion behavior retained
- Preserved the non-overwriting KiCad-native Python/JAR Freerouting bridge.
Konnect v0.12.1 still rejects representative legal roundrect and unnumbered
NPTH geometry in its native Specctra preflight, so the actual-board workflow
continues to prefer native routing and uses the companion fallback only for
that measured compatibility boundary. - Preserved deterministic specialist routing, schematic readability and group
closure, transfer integrity, visual placement, PCB physics, BOM,
manufacturing, review, bring-up, process-lifecycle, and benchmark-ledger
controls. - Preserved separate Claude and Codex guidance paths. Upstream behavior is
translated and enhanced for Codex rather than copied with incompatible
frontmatter, hooks, or model settings.
Compatibility evidence
- Exact supported Konnect version and tag commit are pinned in
compatibility.json. - All upstream baseline files, the aggregate guidance fingerprint, and the hook
fingerprint are pinned and checked bykonnect-codex audit. - Release validation covers formatting, unit and integration tests, Clippy,
source audit, dry-run publication, plugin sync/doctor, and local activation.
Installation
Install Konnect v0.12.1 first, then install this matching companion release.
Run konnect-codex sync followed by konnect-codex doctor. Start a new Codex
task after installation so the refreshed skills, agents, and hooks are loaded.
konnect-codex v0.12.0
konnect-codex plugin v0.12.0 - companion revision 1
This release is reviewed specifically for
Konnect v0.12.0 at
commit 37cfa434848120321906e87bd30553c4f0f08244.
Upstream v0.12.0 integration
- Reviewed all nine changed upstream skill and agent assets and rebased the
exact 17-file baseline, aggregate guidance fingerprint, and hook contract. - Added Codex guidance for
get_footprint_info(include_pads=true)and
get_component_padsso library-local and board-space pad geometry are not
confused during routing. - Integrated DRC
ownerandownership_statusevidence so footprint-owned
edge geometry is not incorrectly "fixed" by moving a component. - Integrated repeated-sheet local/global/power-net scope and the structured
annotate_schematicpartial/unresolved contract. - Integrated the verified manufacturing artifact manifest and JLCPCB BOM/CPL
correction and mandatory placement-preview workflow. Structural completion
is never presented as physical-orientation approval.
Companion behavior retained
- Preserved the non-overwriting KiCad-native Python/JAR Freerouting bridge.
Konnect's Specctra exporter and bridge-selection code did not change in
v0.12.0, so the representative roundrect/unnumbered-NPTH failure boundary
remains. The workflow uses native routing when the actual-board preflight
passes and the companion fallback only when that profile rejects legal KiCad
geometry. - Preserved deterministic specialist routing, schematic readability and group
closure, transfer integrity, visual placement, PCB physics, BOM,
manufacturing, review, bring-up, process-lifecycle, and benchmark-ledger
controls. - Preserved separate Claude and Codex guidance paths. Upstream behavior is
translated and enhanced for Codex rather than copied with incompatible
frontmatter or model settings.
Known upstream packaging gap
Konnect v0.12.0's released konnect skill and two agents link
references/reliability-contract.md, but that file is absent from the release
asset tree. This companion continues to ship its independent evidence contract
and does not claim the missing upstream reference was loaded.
Compatibility evidence
- Exact supported Konnect version and tag commit are pinned in
compatibility.json. - All upstream baseline files, the aggregate guidance fingerprint, and the hook
fingerprint are pinned and checked bykonnect-codex audit. - The complete Konnect catalogue remains exposed through the plugin: 226
registered tools, 233 total tools, and 21 toolsets for the supported release. - Release validation covers formatting, unit and integration tests, Clippy,
source audit, dry-run publication, plugin sync/doctor, and local activation.
Installation
Install Konnect v0.12.0 first, then install this matching companion release.
Run konnect-codex sync followed by konnect-codex doctor. Start a new Codex
task after installation so the refreshed skills and agents are loaded.
konnect-codex v0.11.1
konnect-codex plugin v0.11.1 — companion revision 1
This release is reviewed specifically for
Konnect v0.11.1 at
commit eadbe451bb50eb51c6e42abcf6e0152f62bc1e13.
Native Freerouting integration
- Replaced the companion-owned Python/JAR router with Konnect's native sequence:
check_freerouting,export_specctra_dsn,route_specctra_dsn,
plan_specctra_ses_import, andapply_specctra_ses. - Retired the
offline-freerouting-bridgecompanion delta and removed its CLI,
process discovery, KiCad Python scripts, and tests. - Retained Freerouting-first Codex guidance and strengthened its board-revision,
manifest, supported-geometry, checkpoint, DRC, and cleanup gates. - Added the live-board hook classification for native DSN export, SES planning,
and SES apply.
Workflow and guidance improvements
- Added the discoverable
kicad-workflowsrouter and domain-owned workflows for
custom libraries, schematic construction and cleanup, PCB transfer,
constraints, placement, routing, ECOs, recovery, simulation readiness,
manufacturing release, and bring-up. - Added an owned-process lifecycle gate for KiCad editors, Freerouting, Java,
simulators, and external helpers. It distinguishes pre-existing processes from
task-owned children and requires verified cleanup without broad termination. - Added a routed-board physics acceptance gate covering return planes, critical
loops, power and thermal paths, differential and RF constraints, stitching,
via process, edge clearance, and production test access. - Preserved the existing Codex-specific delegation, schematic readability,
transfer integrity, evidence honesty, placement, BOM, manufacturing, review,
and bring-up controls.
Upstream v0.11.1 review
- Rebased the exact upstream skill and agent baseline on the v0.11.1 tag and
recorded all normalized file hashes plus aggregate guidance and hook
fingerprints. - Integrated upstream physical pin-map, schematic evidence, manufacturing, and
native Freerouting guidance without copying Claude-only frontmatter or model
settings into Codex agents. - Retained the documented #315 connected-move and #328 bus-connectivity safety
boundaries where the upstream release still requires them.
Compatibility evidence
- Exact Konnect version, tag commit, per-file upstream asset hashes, aggregate
guidance fingerprint, and hook fingerprint are pinned. - Policy assertions cover 26 active enhancements and three retired decisions.
- Release validation includes source audit, formatting, tests, Clippy, plugin
sync/doctor, local process cleanup, and platform packaging.
konnect-codex v0.11.0
konnect-codex plugin v0.11.0 — companion revision 1
This release is reviewed specifically for
Konnect v0.11.0 at
commit a22ad2153dcf45dbcf1cc63b5b0f1e40c93d7956.
Upstream integration
- Integrated
delete_graphicsinto the PCB outline-replacement workflow and
classified it as a live-or-revision-aware-closed-board mutation. - Integrated
set_predefined_sizes/get_predefined_sizeswhile keeping the
editor palette distinct from DRC floors and netclass targets. - Updated netclass guidance for resolved values,
inherits, and
missing_fields. - Added explicit placement
held-set inspection and rejection of unexpected
held references while retaining independent post-apply scoring. - Removed the #331 official-footprint-refresh workaround and the #326 incomplete
Default-netclass workaround; both are fixed in v0.11.0. - Retained the #328 bus-connectivity and #315
move_connectedsafety gates.
Retired companion deltas
native-auto-install-suppressionis retired. Konnect v0.11.0 MCP startup is
non-mutating and guidance installation requires explicitkonnect init.
Sync migrates old installations by removing the companion-owned guard and
only the synthetic marker that guard recorded as companion-created.verified-symbol-and-pin-guidanceis retired as a companion-only correction.
Upstream v0.11.0 corrected unsafe universal pin rules, known invalid library
IDs, and LED polarity examples and added asset tests. The safe wording remains
in the Codex translation.
Deliberately retained
- The offline Freerouting bridge and Freerouting-first workflow remain active.
The native DSN/SES/MCP stack in Konnect PRs #338, #339, #340, and #342 has not
shipped in v0.11.0. - Codex-native delegation, schematic readability, transfer-integrity,
evidence-honesty, placement, contradictory-verdict, BOM, manufacturing,
review, and bring-up gates remain active. - The Codex hook contract remains active. It now covers
delete_graphicsand
set_predefined_sizes; upstream Claude issues #357 and #358 remain open.
Compatibility evidence
- Exact Konnect version, tag commit, aggregate guidance fingerprint, unchanged
hook fingerprint, and all 17 normalized upstream asset hashes are pinned. - Policy assertions cover 24 active enhancements and record two retired
decisions in the living delta register. - Release validation includes source audit, formatting, tests, Clippy,
lifecycle migration, plugin sync/doctor, and platform packaging.
konnect-codex v0.10.0-codex.2
konnect-codex plugin v0.10.0-codex.2 — companion revision 2
This release is reviewed for
Konnect v0.10.0 at
commit 866933e8aca1c115479963463cc7e34370b5822b.
Konnect 0.10.0 adds a deterministic placement-analysis toolset and schematic
visual-baseline tools. The release exposes 214 registered domain tools across
20 toolsets, plus six router/meta tools.
Companion revision 2 is a full Codex-guidance audit against upstream issues
#356, #357, and #358. It preserves all prior companion enhancements while
making their release-to-release treatment explicit and executable.
Codex guidance audit
- Added a living guidance delta register and standards document. Every active
enhancement now has a retain/revise/retire/add review path for the next
Konnect release, and tests require every policy ID to remain represented. - Corrected the seven known invalid KiCad 10 shortcut IDs, fixed the standard
Device:LEDpolarity example (1=K,2=A), and removed universal diode,
transistor, MOSFET, connector, crystal, and IC physical pin-number rules. - Linked every bundled reference from its parent skill with a read trigger, so
progressive disclosure can actually reach all 18 references. - Added an explicit evidence contract to all five agents and the router: no
check, render, inspection, export, or measurement may be reported as run
without its result; missing or contradictory required evidence is
BLOCKED/INCOMPLETE. - Corrected manufacturing guidance to the v0.10.0 handler contract, made
partial export/artifact verification explicit, labeledestimate_costa
rough heuristic, and demoted time-sensitive vendor/trace tables to sourced
starting references. - Replaced the single inaccurate PCB IPC hook warning with four reviewed
runtime classes: live-only, live-or-closed fallback, closed-board-only, and
dry-run/apply. A machine-readable tool contract is checked against every
matcher, including real v0.10.0refill_zonescoverage. - Refactored hook output behind a testable structured Codex response and added
tests for runtime messages, reference reachability, unsafe shortcut
regression, and living-register coverage.
Guidance compatibility review
The upstream inventory remains 17 files. Two skills changed and no upstream
agent changed:
kicad-pcbadds score-first placement automation with dry-run planners for
schematic clustering, force-directed refinement, decoupling placement, and
BGA fanout;kicad-schematicadds inline PNG rendering plus persistent visual baseline
capture and comparison.
The reviewed Codex guidance integrates those additions into stronger acceptance
loops. Placement starts with an independent score, locks mechanically
constrained references, reviews a dry-run plan, re-scores after apply, and still
requires a human-readable 2D checkpoint. Schematic work captures a baseline
before an established-sheet edit, renders inline for actual inspection, and
treats visual drift as review evidence rather than an automatic failure.
The existing safety guidance remains active. Issue #331 still prevents most
official footprints containing fp_text user from being refreshed; issue #326
still protects the complete Default netclass; issue #328 keeps bus connectivity
checks advisory; and #315 means move_connected still refuses.
The companion Freerouting bridge remains separate from Konnect's public tool
surface. It now passes the documented --gui.enabled=false setting and the
explicit router pass limit, so a complete route is headless and does not depend
on desktop control. DSN export and SES import still use KiCad 10's offline
Python API, preserve the source board, and require the existing acceptance
gate.
Included
- Nine reviewed Codex-native workflow skills, including execution routing,
BOM qualification, and controlled firmware/bring-up handoff. - Five specialist Codex agents for libraries, schematics, PCB construction,
independent review, and bring-up planning. - Exact Konnect v0.10.0 version, commit, guidance, hook, and 17-file upstream
baseline verification before plugin state changes. - Eager access to the released 214 registered domain tools across 20 toolsets.
- Score-first placement and visual schematic feedback integrated into the
companion's existing transfer, readability, placement, and review gates. - Scoped MCP session inspection and cleanup with Windows child-process
ownership, preventing stale Konnect processes from locking upgrades. - Freerouting-first, explicitly headless, non-overwriting whole-board routing
with live/offline PCB ownership preflight. - Custom-part physical pin-map acceptance, schematic readability gates,
placement checkpoints, ECO and power-layout branches, evidence-grounded
review, legacy/manual assembly guidance, and manufacturing verification. - Downloadable Windows, Linux, and macOS release archives with SHA-256 sums.

konnect-codex v0.9.0
konnect-codex plugin v0.9.0 — companion revision 1
This release is reviewed for
Konnect v0.9.0 at
commit 8648fe2573377eac78525907cbdd16216986f08e.
Konnect 0.9.0 is the upstream “truth-in-responses” release. It adds atomic,
revision-gated placed-footprint refresh; atomic batch placement with live
readback; junction reconciliation after ordinary schematic moves; multi-unit
schematic mutations; live pad readback; transformed symbol geometry; and
correct bus-entry endpoint reporting.
Guidance compatibility review
The upstream inventory remains 17 files. Two skills changed and no upstream
agent changed:
kicad-libraryadds the dry-run/apply contract for
update_footprints_from_library;kicad-pcbplaces linked-library refresh between schematic transfer and
placement.
The reviewed Codex guidance carries those changes and adds the server's current
limits. Issue #331 means most official footprints containing fp_text user
are safely refused by refresh; issue #326 still protects the complete Default
netclass; issue #328 keeps bus connectivity checks advisory; and #315 means
move_connected still refuses even though ordinary moves now reconcile
junction dots. The PCB builder prefers set_component_placements for an
already reviewed batch so it is one atomic operation with post-commit readback.
The companion Freerouting bridge remains separate from Konnect's public tool
surface. It now passes the documented --gui.enabled=false setting and the
explicit router pass limit, so a complete route is headless and does not depend
on desktop control. DSN export and SES import still use KiCad 10's offline
Python API, preserve the source board, and require the existing acceptance
gate.

baseline verification before plugin state changes. - Eager access to the released 206 registered tools across 19 toolsets.
- Scoped MCP session inspection and cleanup with Windows child-process
ownership, preventing stale Konnect processes from locking upgrades. - Freerouting-first, explicitly headless, non-overwriting whole-board routing
with live/offline PCB ownership preflight. - Custom-part physical pin-map acceptance, schematic readability gates,
placement checkpoints, ECO and power-layout branches, evidence-grounded
review, legacy/manual assembly guidance, and manufacturing verification. - Downloadable Windows, Linux, and macOS release archives with SHA-256 sums.

konnect-codex v0.7.0
konnect-codex plugin v0.7.0 — companion revision 1
This release is reviewed for
Konnect v0.7.0 at
commit 8e458d43602e7979bdc0e4456ce9c0cbe3eb2fe4.
Konnect 0.7.0 fixes the schematic-to-board corruption that converted footprint
graphics into phantom pads, reads the applied IPC state back, requires DRC
evidence for review/manufacturing verdicts, preserves all DRC result categories,
and adds guarded closed-board move, rotate, and flip behavior. The upstream
guidance review found one changed asset: kicad-pcb/SKILL.md, updated for those
closed-board operations. The companion PCB skill now carries that contract while
retaining its stricter single-owner, transfer-inventory, placement, Freerouting,
and route-acceptance gates.
The existing transfer-integrity and contradictory-verdict enhancements remain
active until the v0.7 behavior is exercised in the companion's end-to-end KiCad
benchmark; the source fixes alone do not retire a proven workflow gate.
The companion now reports retained MCP process pairs through sessions,
retires only verified companion-to-Konnect pairs through stop-sessions, and
warns about duplicate sessions in doctor. On Windows, every newly launched
Konnect server is assigned to a kill-on-close Job Object so an unexpectedly
terminated adapter cannot leave its child behind. These safeguards make locked
binary recovery local and explicit while still allowing separate active Codex
tasks to hold independent MCP sessions.
Companion revision 6 adds evidence-grounded review methodology and a dedicated
KiCad BOM qualification skill. Comprehensive reviews now record confirmed
design context, evidence basis, confidence, exact-part datasheet status,
explicit review limits, false-positive dispositions, and revision-to-revision
finding status. BOM work now maintains schematic properties as the source of
truth, qualifies exact MPNs and alternates, distinguishes lifecycle evidence
from time-sensitive stock, and directly verifies the exported BOM.
Companion revision 5 closes the workflow gaps exposed by the DR2000 benchmark.
It adds custom-part physical pin-map acceptance, a dedicated library builder,
a firmware/first-power bring-up planner, visual placement approval, ECO and
power/thermal layout branches, legacy through-hole sourcing guidance, and a
repeatable raw review-evidence package.
Revision 5 also adds an executable Freerouting bridge. It detects KiCad's
bundled pcbnew Python API, Java, and the ActionPlugin or standalone engine
JAR; exports DSN, runs Freerouting, imports SES, and saves a separate
.freerouted.kicad_pcb without overwriting the source. Live PCB preflight
requires exactly one PCB Editor; offline routing requires none.
Companion revision 4 makes Freerouting the default whole-board routing strategy
for the PCB skill and konnect_pcb_builder. It adds a documented KiCad
ActionPlugin/Konnect bridge decision, a clean-placement gate before routing,
route-import inventory and DRC acceptance, stale trace-query detection, and a
hard stop when a live IPC phase falls back to closed-file mutation.
Revision 3 added konnect_pcb_builder, a dedicated PCB construction agent for
transfer integrity, board setup, placement, routing, zones, and direct layout
verification. The router and prompt hook use a deterministic schematic -> PCB
-> independent review sequence, with one agent owning the live KiCad project at
a time.
The revision retains revision 2's durable reviewed-mode installation across MCP
restarts. Konnect 0.6.1 through 0.7.0 silently reinstalls its native Codex skills whenever
the .installed-codex marker is absent, reversing an explicit uninstall. The
plugin now owns a reversible suppression guard while enabled, repairs it before
every MCP launch, reports it through doctor, and restores the marker's prior
state on disable or uninstall. The upstream behavior is tracked in
Konnect #242.
Included
- Eight reviewed Codex-native KiCad workflow skills and one execution router.
- Five Codex agents for custom libraries, complete schematic construction, PCB
layout, independent design review, and read-only firmware/bring-up handoff. - Codex-native hooks and eager discovery of the complete Konnect MCP catalogue.
- Reversible sync, disable, enable, doctor, and uninstall operations.
- Scoped MCP session inspection and cleanup, with Windows child-process
ownership for abnormal adapter exits. - A compatibility audit that detects upstream guidance or hook drift.
- A machine-enforced guidance change policy with per-file upstream provenance,
named Codex enhancements, evidence, and retirement criteria. - Deterministic sequential delegation for full schematic builds, PCB transfer
and layout, and final design reviews. - Freerouting-first whole-board routing with explicit DSN/SES bridge selection,
placement readiness, route-import acceptance, and local-repair boundaries. - A non-overwriting offline Freerouting route bridge plus live/offline PCB
ownership preflight. - Datasheet-view-aware custom-part acceptance, ECO preservation, power/thermal
layout, legacy/manual assembly, controlled bring-up, and raw evidence flows. - Schematic collision/evidence gates, PCB transfer invariants, contradictory
verifier handling, and direct manufacturing artifact verification derived
from the safe-parts benchmark. - Health output that reports plugin-managed and upstream-native agents
separately. - A pre-install gate that requires Konnect to be present and exactly v0.7.0
before any plugin file is created or replaced. - Downloadable Windows, Linux, and macOS archives with SHA-256 checksums.
For the easiest setup, open the README's
Install with Codex
section and paste its installation request into a Codex task. Codex will select
the platform archive, verify its checksum, install the plugin, and run the
health check. Manual installation remains documented immediately below it.

konnect-codex v0.6.1-codex.6
konnect-codex plugin v0.6.1 — companion revision 6
This release is reviewed for
Konnect v0.6.1 at
commit 506abe094204c6d4acd77415892e9e0e8fdb35fb.
Konnect 0.6.1 fixes the KiCad crash caused by footprint graphics on
Dwgs.User and makes konnect init --help non-destructive. Its bundled

Companion revision 2 makes reviewed-mode installation durable across MCP
restarts. Konnect 0.6.1 silently reinstalls its native Codex skills whenever
the .installed-codex marker is absent, reversing an explicit uninstall. The
plugin now owns a reversible suppression guard while enabled, repairs it before
every MCP launch, reports it through doctor, and restores the marker's prior
state on disable or uninstall. The upstream behavior is tracked in
Konnect #242.
Included
- Six reviewed Codex-native KiCad workflow skills and one execution router.
- Two Codex agents for complete schematic construction and design review.
- Codex-native hooks and eager discovery of the complete Konnect MCP catalogue.
- Reversible sync, disable, enable, doctor, and uninstall operations.
- A compatibility audit that detects upstream guidance or hook drift.
- A machine-enforced guidance change policy with per-file upstream provenance,
named Codex enhancements, evidence, and retirement criteria. - Deterministic sequential delegation for full schematic builds and final
design reviews. - Schematic collision/evidence gates, PCB transfer invariants, contradictory
verifier handling, and direct manufacturing artifact verification derived
from the safe-parts benchmark. - Health output that reports plugin-managed and upstream-native agents
separately. - A pre-install gate that requires Konnect to be present and exactly v0.6.1
before any plugin file is created or replaced.
Konnect and its original hardware workflows are created and maintained by
mixelpixx. This plugin is an independent Codex
integration.
