Play Farming Simulator 25 in real VR. You sit inside the cab, look around with your head and lean out of the window. Walk around your farm in full 3D.

Unofficial mod. Not made by or affiliated with GIANTS Software. Free and open source.

🆕 What's new in 0.1.9

  • New setting for one-eye shimmer or stutter: if one eye shimmers or stutters on fine detail (grass, flowers) and the other eye doesn't, open fs25vr.ini in the game's x64 folder and add the line eyeOrder=1. Please tell us whether the problem moves to the other eye, goes away or stays put; that pinpoints the cause.
  • From 0.1.8: fix for jitter in the left eye only. From 0.1.7: both eyes always updated together. From 0.1.6: adjustable head position (numpad, see Keys below).
  • The log file (fs25vr.log) now also lists all the main settings, which makes problem reports easier to read.
  • Updating? Just run INSTALL.bat from this download. Your settings are kept.

✅ What you need

  • Farming Simulator 25 on a Windows PC
  • A PC VR headset: Valve Index, HTC Vive, Meta Quest (with Link, Air Link or Virtual Desktop), Pico, Windows Mixed Reality and others
  • SteamVR (or your headset's PC app) set as the OpenXR runtime. In SteamVR: Settings → OpenXR → Set SteamVR as OpenXR runtime
  • A strong graphics card. VR needs a high frame rate.

🛠️ How to install

  1. Close the game.
  2. Unzip the download anywhere, for example your Desktop.
  3. Double-click INSTALL.bat.
    • If Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
    • If it can't find the game, it asks for the game folder. Paste it in and press Enter.
  4. Start the game with your headset on. When you load a savegame, make sure "VR (OpenXR, stereoscopic 6DOF)" is ticked in the mod list.
  5. You'll see "VR active". Press F8 to centre your view.

For the sharpest picture: after your first time in VR, quit the game and double-click SET VR RESOLUTION.bat. It sets the best render size for your headset automatically.

Please turn these off in the game's graphics options: frame generation (DLSS, XeSS or FSR), DLSS/DSR upscaling and motion blur. They cause doubled or blurry images in VR.

F10 Show/hide the HUD in VR (hidden by default)
Numpad 4/6, 8/2, 9/3 Move your head position left/right, forward/back, up/down (hold)
Numpad 5 Reset the head position
F6 / F7 Advanced picture options. You can leave these alone.

Menus, the map and the shop appear on a big screen in front of you. Use the mouse as normal; you'll see the pointer in the headset.

✨ What's included

  • True 3D: each eye is drawn separately, not a flat picture on a screen
  • Full head tracking: look, lean and duck, in vehicles and on foot
  • Smooth headset motion, with the eyes kept in sync while you drive and turn
  • Menus on a flat screen with a visible mouse pointer
  • HUD hidden in VR to keep your view clear
  • Adjustable head position, saved for each vehicle

⚠️ Good to know

  • Each eye updates at half the game's frame rate, so aim for a high frame rate. Lower the graphics settings if it stutters.
  • Multiplayer works if the server has the mod too, but hasn't been tested much yet.
  • A future game update may stop this version working. It falls back to a flat screen instead of crashing.

❌ Uninstall

Double-click UNINSTALL.bat.

🐞 Problems?

Mod shows in the list but stays flat and the F-keys do nothing? Close the game, open the game's x64 folder, right-click dinput8.dll → Properties → tick Unblock → OK, and do the same for openxr_loader.dll. (INSTALL.bat normally does this for you.)

Open an issue and attach the file <game folder>\x64\fs25vr.log. It records what happened.

For the technically curious
  • The zip contains a dinput8.dll bridge (an OpenXR compositor that hooks the game's D3D12 swap chain), the FS25_VR Lua mod, and an installer. The full source is in this repo.
  • It does not modify any game files. Deleting the files removes it completely.
  • SHA-256 of the zip: 9ce4c299d692a1c37766148eb594b7cbd4c84d101dded418941ad4797753fb77. Per-file checksums are in SHA256SUMS.txt inside the zip.
