@nicolasvangeluwe nicolasvangeluwe released this 07 Sep 19:55

Development release focused on making installation and cross-vehicle testing easier while preparing the project for HACS default-repository submission.

What changed

  • Added a prominent call for European NIO owners to test the integration and report which telemetry works for their car.
  • Added and linked a dedicated, owner-friendly model and country compatibility discussion.
  • Expanded the installation guide with exact custom-repository, download, restart, and Home Assistant setup steps.
  • Added a one-click Open in HACS button.
  • Added Home Assistant application-credentials guidance for the exact OAuth redirect URI.
  • Added the public contribution policy and credited @lubbyhst for early cross-vehicle testing and feedback.
  • Declared the currently documented European NIO markets in hacs.json for country-aware HACS discovery.

Important current limitation

OAuth, token refresh, current timestamps, vehicle state, and odometer work in live testing. NIO currently returns SoC as 0 or no record on the tested ET5 Touring and ET7, while several other documented endpoints return permission_denied. This is being investigated publicly and with NIO support.

Please share a quick result in Discussion #6. Never post credentials, tokens, a full VIN, or precise location data.

Validation

The release commit passed pytest, hassfest, and HACS repository validation.
