When reporting a problem, please include your app version (shown in Settings → About) and what you were doing when it happened.
- Start with a photo. Create a project and import a photo from your library, or shoot one with the camera.
- Pick a motion. Choose how to cut the photo into frames — a single crop, random tiles, a zoom, a drawn path, or detected faces.
- Fine-tune the frames. Drag the crop rectangle on any frame, and reorder, duplicate or delete frames in the filmstrip.
- Make your GIF. Tap Make GIF to encode it, then share it anywhere.
The app comes with two sample projects, Molly and Girl, so you can explore a finished animation right away.
Where are my projects stored? Everything stays on your device, inside the app's own storage. Nothing is uploaded — see the Privacy Policy.
Why is my exported GIF so large? GIF size grows with frame count, frame size and JPEG quality. Try a smaller frame size or lower quality in Settings.
Can I send a GIF to another app? Yes. In the animation preview, the share button offers Share — the usual share sheet — and Open in another app, which goes straight to the apps that can open a GIF. Shared GIFs carry the project's name, so the receiving app shows "Molly" rather than an internal file name.
One of those apps is Polyptych, which takes a GIF and spreads it across several iPhones and iPads laid side by side, playing the frames across all of them at once. Send a GIF to it and it becomes a new show named after your project.
Can I change the speed of an animation? Yes — open a project and choose Animation settings to adjust the frame duration and how many times it repeats.
The play button shows single frames instead of my GIF. The encoded GIF plays only while it matches your frames. After editing a project, tap Make GIF again to re-encode it.
