Mobile Responsiveness Checklist (Per Page)

Dashboard (/)

  • No horizontal scrolling required
  • Touch targets ≥44x44px
  • Readable text (≥16px base)
  • Navigation accessible (hamburger menu)
  • Forms usable (N/A)
  • Tables responsive (N/A - uses cards)
  • Buttons stack vertically (yes, in cards)
  • Images scale properly (N/A)
  • Charts responsive (sparklines scale)

Verdict: ✅ Perfect - No changes needed

Config/Env (/config/env)

  • No horizontal scrolling required
  • Touch targets ≥44x44px
  • Readable text (≥16px base)
  • Navigation accessible
  • Forms usable - Inline edit inputs may be cramped
  • Tables responsive - 3-column table (Key, Value, Actions) needs mobile view
  • Buttons stack vertically
  • Images scale properly
  • Charts responsive (N/A)

Issues:

  1. Variable table has 3 columns with inline editing - hard to tap edit/delete buttons on mobile
  2. Search bar + filters may wrap awkwardly

Recommended Fixes:

// Add mobile-specific table view
const MobileVariableCard = ({ variable }) => (
  <div className="rounded-lg border p-4 space-y-2">
    <div className="flex items-start justify-between">
      <div className="font-mono text-sm font-medium">{variable.key}</div>
      <div className="flex gap-2">
        <button className="p-2 rounded hover:bg-zinc-100">
          <Edit className="h-4 w-4" />
        </button>
        <button className="p-2 rounded hover:bg-zinc-100">
          <Trash2 className="h-4 w-4" />
        </button>
      </div>
    </div>
    <div className="text-sm text-zinc-600">{variable.value || 'not set'}</div>
    <div className="flex gap-2">
      {variable.badges.map(badge => (
        <span key={badge} className="text-xs px-2 py-1 rounded bg-zinc-100">
          {badge}
        </span>
      ))}
    </div>
  </div>
)

// In the render:
<div className="space-y-4">
  {/* Desktop: Table */}
  <table className="hidden md:table w-full">
    {/* existing table code */}
  </table>

  {/* Mobile: Cards */}
  <div className="space-y-3 md:hidden">
    {vars.map(v => <MobileVariableCard key={v.key} variable={v} />)}
  </div>
</div>

Services (/services)

  • No horizontal scrolling required
  • Touch targets ≥44x44px
  • Readable text (≥16px base)
  • Navigation accessible
  • Forms usable (N/A - filters only)
  • Tables responsive - List view has horizontal scroll
  • Buttons stack vertically
  • Images scale properly
  • Charts responsive (metric cards scale)

Verdict: ✅ Good - List view table already has horizontal scroll wrapper

Database Console (/database/console)

  • No horizontal scrolling (page-level)
  • Touch targets ≥44x44px - SQL buttons may be too small
  • Readable text
  • Navigation accessible
  • Forms usable - SQL editor difficult on mobile
  • Tables responsive - Query results table will overflow
  • Buttons stack vertically
  • Images scale properly
  • Charts responsive (N/A)

Issues:

  1. SQL query results with many columns will overflow
  2. Monaco editor may not be touch-friendly
  3. Execute/Cancel buttons may be hard to tap

Recommended Fixes:

// Wrap query results in horizontal scroll
<div className="overflow-x-auto -mx-4 sm:mx-0">
  <table className="min-w-full">
    {/* query results */}
  </table>
</div>

// Stack editor toolbar buttons on mobile
<div className="flex flex-col sm:flex-row gap-2">
  <button>Execute</button>
  <button>Cancel</button>
  <button>Clear</button>
</div>

System Resources (/system/resources)

  • No horizontal scrolling - FAIL: Table will overflow
  • Touch targets ≥44x44px - Table cells too cramped
  • Readable text
  • Navigation accessible
  • Forms usable (N/A)
  • Tables responsive - CRITICAL: 6+ column table
  • Buttons stack vertically
  • Images scale properly
  • Charts responsive

Issues:

  1. Resource table has 6+ columns (Service, CPU, Memory, Disk, Network, Actions)
  2. Completely unusable on mobile without horizontal scroll or card conversion

Recommended Fixes:

// Create mobile card view
const MobileResourceCard = ({ resource }) => (
  <div className="space-y-3 rounded-lg border p-4">
    <div className="flex items-center justify-between">
      <div className="flex items-center gap-2">
        <Icon className="h-5 w-5" />
        <span className="font-medium">{resource.name}</span>
      </div>
      <StatusBadge status={resource.status} />
    </div>

    <div className="grid grid-cols-2 gap-3">
      <div>
        <div className="text-xs text-zinc-500">CPU</div>
        <div className="text-lg font-semibold">{resource.cpu}%</div>
      </div>
      <div>
        <div className="text-xs text-zinc-500">Memory</div>
        <div className="text-lg font-semibold">{resource.memory}%</div>
      </div>
      <div>
        <div className="text-xs text-zinc-500">Disk</div>
        <div className="text-lg font-semibold">{resource.disk}%</div>
      </div>
      <div>
        <div className="text-xs text-zinc-500">Network</div>
        <div className="text-lg font-semibold">{resource.network}</div>
      </div>
    </div>

    <div className="flex gap-2">
      <button>Restart</button>
      <button>Logs</button>
    </div>
  </div>
)

Common Patterns & Solutions

Pattern 1: Wide Data Tables

Problem: Tables with 5+ columns are unusable on mobile

Solution: Create responsive table component

// src/components/ui/responsive-table.tsx
export function ResponsiveTable<T>({
  data,
  columns,
  mobileCard: MobileCard,
}: ResponsiveTableProps<T>) {
  return (
    <>
      {/* Desktop: Table */}
      <div className="hidden overflow-x-auto md:block">
        <table className="w-full">
          <thead>
            <tr>
              {columns.map((col) => (
                <th key={col.key}>{col.header}</th>
              ))}
            </tr>
          </thead>
          <tbody>
            {data.map((row) => (
              <tr key={row.id}>
                {columns.map((col) => (
                  <td key={col.key}>{col.render(row)}</td>
                ))}
              </tr>
            ))}
          </tbody>
        </table>
      </div>

      {/* Mobile: Cards */}
      <div className="space-y-3 md:hidden">
        {data.map((row) => (
          <MobileCard key={row.id} data={row} />
        ))}
      </div>
    </>
  )
}

Pattern 2: Form Field Stacking

Problem: Multi-column forms cramped on mobile

Solution: Use responsive grid

<div className="grid grid-cols-1 gap-4 md:grid-cols-2 lg:grid-cols-3">
  <FormField />
  <FormField />
  <FormField />
</div>

Pattern 3: Button Groups

Problem: Horizontal button groups don't fit on mobile

Solution: Stack vertically on mobile

<div className="flex flex-col gap-2 sm:flex-row">
  <button>Primary Action</button>
  <button>Secondary Action</button>
  <button>Tertiary Action</button>
</div>

Pattern 4: Horizontal Scrolling Content

Problem: Code blocks, logs, or pre-formatted text overflow

Solution: Add horizontal scroll wrapper

<div className="-mx-4 overflow-x-auto px-4 sm:mx-0 sm:px-0">
  <pre className="min-w-max">{longContent}</pre>
</div>
