v0.4.0
Feature release: a built-in tutorial, a proper Find dialog, and a colour-coded query box.
Added
- Tutorial window β the π toolbar button (or
F1) opens a separate window with a lesson tree for each of jq, JSON Pointer, JSONPath and JMESPath (63 lessons). Every example shows its query broken down piece by piece, with a live result; βΆ Try it loads the example's data and query into the main window so you can edit and experiment. - Colour-coded query box β each step of what you type (
.members,[],select(β¦),.name; a Pointer's/segments) is tinted in the same palette the tutorial uses, so a long query's structure reads at a glance. - Find dialog β
Ctrl+Fopens a Notepad++-style Find dialog with the cursor already in its field. Find (orEnter) steps through the matches with a running "3 of 17"; Find All lists every match in a panel below, where a click reveals it. - Snap package β
sudo snap install jsonquery-gui(also on the Snap Store).
Improved
- Find in Source matches a result row's key and value (and an array element's position) instead of jumping to the first equal value anywhere in the document. One hit is revealed directly, several are listed with the best guess selected, and a computed value falls back to a text search.
- Autocomplete offers array indices after
[and inserts text spelled for the dialect (.["first name"]in jq,$["first name"]in JSONPath,."first name"in JMESPath). It adds the.after a], pipes a name that follows a finished operand (| abs), andEscnow just closes the list instead of switching the feature off. It is still off by default β turn it on with the π‘ toolbar button.
