Rerun v0.1.0

@nwish nwish released this 08 Oct 15:51

First release. Rerun turns repeatable activities into checklists. Build a list for each thing you do more than once, run through it, reset it, and it's ready for next time. It's self-hosted, and everything lives in a single SQLite file, with no cloud account or subscription.

Highlights

  • Checklists: create, rename and duplicate lists, add, edit and reorder items, and give each list an icon from a curated Lucide set (including kayak and paw print).
  • Run mode: the Dashboard runs one list at a time, with tap-to-check items. Reset clears the checks, and a banner confirms the run was saved to History.
  • Run history: every reset with at least one checked item is saved. The History page shows runs per week, average completion and time, the items you skip most, and a per-list breakdown.
  • Sharing: share all your lists or a single list, as view-only or editable. Each share is either shared (the person keeps their own checks and history) or collaborative (everyone works in one live run, with presence and instant updates over a websocket).
  • Accounts: the first account becomes the admin. After that, registration is invite-only by email. An admin can optionally open registration with a switch (closed by default).
  • Profiles and themes: set a display name and avatar, and pick an accent theme that carries through the UI.
  • Mobile: layouts are built for phones, including the icon picker and the tap states on the run list.

Self-hosting

docker compose up -d # pulls ghcr.io/nwish/rerun:latest
  • The image is linux/amd64 only.
  • The app and API are served from one container on port 3001. Data persists in the rerun-data volume.
  • Schema migrations run automatically on startup. A backup is saved to data/backups/ before upgrading an existing database.
  • Behind a TLS reverse proxy, set HTTPS=1 and TRUST_PROXY=1. The proxy must pass WebSocket upgrades for /api/*.
  • Invitation emails need the SMTP_* variables. Without them, the email is logged to the container console.

Notes

  • Run history only records resets from now on. Earlier resets can't be reconstructed.
  • Open registration has no email verification. Only turn it on for a private network or while onboarding people.
  • Running without Docker requires Node.js ≥ 22.12.
