o7 Debrief v1.5.0
Release Notes
A content release covering Elite Dangerous' first ship-launched vessel, the Nomad, and a richer account of how a session ended. Every change was verified against live journals, so the mapping reflects what the game actually writes rather than a convention.
What's new
- The Nomad is a control context of its own. Deploying the vessel now switches the debrief into a dedicated Ship-Launched Vessel context, sitting alongside ship, SRV and on-foot. Everything you do while flying the Nomad, an exobiology sample for instance, is attributed to the vessel. Deploying, docking and losing the vessel each appear as their own row in the session log, and each names the vessel type (read from the journal, so future ship-launched vessels are named automatically), for example "Deployed the Nomad", "Docked the Nomad", "Lost the Nomad".
- Vessel Hangar trading is tracked. Buying a Vessel Hangar (Mk I or Mk II, any size), selling one or trading a stored one in are counted in a new Ship-Launched Vessel section of the report, which appears only when you actually used the vessel that session.
- Ship-launched fighters are now covered too. Launching, docking and losing a fighter (the F63 Condor, GU-97, Taipan and the Guardian hybrids Trident, Javelin and Lance, in any loadout variant such as Gelid or Rogue) each appear as their own row in a dedicated Ship-Launched Fighter context and name the fighter from the journal. Flying a fighter yourself is its own control context; deploying an NPC-crewed fighter leaves you in the ship, and the report reflects that.
- Deaths now name the killer and the cause. Every death row in the session log reports who destroyed you: a commander or NPC by name, with their ship and rank where the journal records them, and every attacker listed for a wing kill. A self-destruct is named as such, and an environmental death reads as a plain loss. This covers all deaths, including losing the Nomad.
- Bounty rows name the ship you destroyed. With the latest update NPCs can fly any ship, so a bounty now reads "Bounty on Federal Assault Ship" (or any ship type, including an NPC ship-launched fighter), named straight from the journal. Together with the killer's ship on death rows, both sides of a fight, what you killed and what killed you, name the ship type.
Why this matters
The Nomad is a new class of craft and the first flyable vessel with an interior. Treating it as its own control context, rather than folding it into the ship or the SRV, keeps the debrief truthful about what you were actually piloting. And a debrief is a record of a session; naming who ended it, and how, completes that record.
Still true
- Local-first as ever: every figure traces back to a real journal entry and your journal never leaves your machine. No cloud, no account, no telemetry. The update check is the one exception, running only when you ask for it.
- Your whole session is covered, from launch through to when you quit the game; the debrief can also fire automatically the moment the game closes.
