Welcome to the latest major update for Bread & Blood! This release introduces a complete visual overhaul with a borderless draggable UI, deepens the survival mechanics with blood and weight systems, and adds immersive audio cues.

UI & Visual Overhauls

  • Borderless Floating UI: Completely redesigned the tracker bars. Removed the old backdrops in favor of sleek, borderless floating bars with custom textures.
  • Draggable Interface: The tracker frame is now fully draggable and saves its position automatically for each individual character.
  • Dynamic Visibility: Added an "Always Show Bars" option. By default, the bars now cleanly fade out when stats are above 85% and seamlessly reappear when hovered or when stats drop below the threshold.

New Mechanics & Survival Systems

  • The Blood & Wound System: Introduced a brand new Blood stat. Taking sudden massive damage now causes bleeding and wounds. Blood drops steadily while wounded and requires a bandage or a long rest to stop.
  • Heavy Load Penalty: Running while your inventory bags are heavily loaded (over 90% full) will now exhaust your character and rapidly drain your fatigue.
  • Environmental & Combat Effort: Added dynamic penalties based on zone weather (hot/cold zones) and active combat or movement effort.
  • Swimming Exhaustion: Swimming now actively drains your fatigue twice as fast as normal movement.

Audio & Immersion

  • Custom Sound Effects: Integrated custom warning sounds (hunger.wav, thirst.wav, fatigue.wav) to organically notify you before your status becomes critical.
  • Wound Alerts: Added a dedicated wound.wav sound effect and a red pulsing screen overlay (LowHealth texture) to visually emphasize critical blood loss.

Advanced Configuration Panel

  • Customizable UI Penalties: You can now map specific stats (Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue) to penalize your user interface. For example, extreme fatigue can be set to fade out your Action Bars, Unit Frames, or Minimap.
  • Threshold Sliders: Added interactive sliders to fine-tune exactly at what percentage the UI starts fading or when the immersive spell fizzles start kicking in.
  • Adjustable Drain Rates: Granted full control over global drain speeds for hunger, thirst, and fatigue directly from the Interface options menu.

Welcome to the major v1.2.0 update for Bread & Blood! This version fully realizes the addon's namesake by introducing the new Blood bar, an Encumbrance system, environmental action penalties, and major UI enhancements.

New System: Blood Bar & Attrition Mechanics

The fourth core survival stat is finally here, adding a completely new layer of long-term attrition:

  • The 4th Bar: A new "Blood" status bar has been added directly beneath the existing survival bars.
  • Dynamic Attrition: Taking damage in combat now causes long-term attrition. The amount of Blood you lose is directly proportional to the percentage of Health lost during combat.
  • The Wound System: If your Blood bar drops below 25%, you enter a "Wounded" state. Your thirst will drain 3x faster due to blood loss, and running while wounded will cause extreme pain, draining your fatigue in seconds. Your character will periodically groan in pain with bleeding UI alerts.
  • Meaningful First Aid: Applying a bandage (receiving the "Recently Bandaged" aura) now instantly restores +30% Blood. First Aid is now arguably the most important profession for your survival.
  • Passive Healing: If you are out of bandages, resting at an Inn (+5% per minute) or sleeping by a Campfire (+2% per minute) will slowly regenerate your Blood over time.
  • Wound System Toggle: The entire Wound System can be enabled or disabled anytime via the AddOn Interface Options.

New System: Encumbrance & Heavy Load

Your inventory fullness now actively impacts your physical performance:

  • Bag Weight Penalty: The fullness of your inventory bags now dynamically affects how fast you get hungry and thirsty. The heavier your load, the faster your stats drain.
  • Heavy Load Run Penalty: If your bags are 90% or more full, attempting to Run will cause rapid exhaustion, draining your Fatigue bar in seconds. You will be forced to toggle RP Walk (/ on the numpad) to move safely under such a massive load. This feature is fully toggleable in the options menu.

Environmental & Action Penalties

  • Swimming Exhaustion: Swimming now actively drains your Fatigue at 2x the normal rate.
  • Gradual Replenishment: Eating and drinking no longer instantly fill your survival bars. They now realistically replenish your Hunger and Thirst gradually over the duration of the food/drink buff.

UI & Quality of Life Improvements

  • Dynamic Status Icons: Added new visual indicator icons to the UI frame that pop up dynamically based on your state:
    • Heavy Load Icon: Appears when your bags are above 50% full. Pulses red when above 90% full.
    • Swimming Icon: Appears and pulses when you are actively swimming.
    • Wounded Icon: Appears when your Blood drops below 25%.
  • Interactive Tooltips: You can now hover your mouse over ANY warning or status icon (Hunger, Thirst, Fatigue, Wounded, Heavy Load, Swimming) to see a tooltip explaining exactly what the penalty is doing and how to fix it.
  • Blurred Vision: When your Fatigue drops to critical levels (15% or lower), your screen will realistically blur and distort using the nether effect to simulate extreme exhaustion.
  • Cleaner UI Numbers: Fixed an issue where the UI bars would display long floating-point decimal numbers. All stats are now neatly rounded down.
