Chime 4 Breakfast 1.0.0
No need to keep watching AI think. Move on to another task, and Chime 4 Breakfast notifies you the moment Codex or Claude Desktop needs you or finishes a reply, with a sound plus a screen-edge glow when you have stepped away.
Install
- Download Chime 4 Breakfast.dmg below.
- Open it and drag Chime 4 Breakfast into Applications.
- Launch it, then grant Accessibility access when prompted (System Settings, Privacy and Security, Accessibility). This is how it detects when the assistant finishes.
Requires macOS 14 or later. Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple, so it launches with no warnings.
Highlights
- Reliable detection. Fires once per finished response for Codex and Claude Desktop, not while the assistant is still thinking.
- Done vs needs you. A calm cue when a reply completes, a stronger one when it looks like a question or blocker.
- Screen-edge glow in each app's color (Claude warm, Codex blue) when you have stepped away, so you can tell who finished at a glance.
- 14 built-in sounds, each previewable in one click and assignable per event. All synthesized from scratch and dedicated to the public domain (CC0).
- 100% local. No account, no cloud, no telemetry. The only permission it needs is Accessibility.
Notes
- Universal build (Apple Silicon and Intel).
- Source, build instructions, and contributing guide are in the repository README.
