Title: [Windows][26.715.10079.0] Entire ChatGPT/Codex GUI flashes continuously
The entire new unified ChatGPT/Codex desktop GUI flashes rapidly and continuously immediately after launch, making the application unusable.
Environment:
- Package: OpenAI.Codex 26.715.10079.0
- Package full name: OpenAI.Codex_26.715.10079.0_x64__2p2nqsd0c76g0
- Windows: Windows 11, build 26200, x64
- Intel Iris Xe Graphics, driver 32.0.101.7085
- NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU, driver 32.0.15.9595
Troubleshooting completed with no improvement:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled the application
- Terminated every ChatGPT/Codex process
- Used Windows App Repair
- Used Windows App Reset with a clean local profile
- Forced the application to Intel Iris Xe graphics
- Forced the application to NVIDIA graphics
- Disabled “Optimizations for windowed games”
- Launched the packaged executable directly with:
--disable-gpu
--disable-gpu-compositing
--disable-features=Vulkan
The application still flashes continuously even with GPU rendering and GPU compositing disabled. Closing the window can also leave approximately ten ChatGPT/Codex subprocesses running until the complete process group is forcibly ended.
Expected behavior:
The application should render normally and terminate its processes when closed.
Actual behavior:
The entire GUI flashes rapidly and continuously from startup, regardless of profile state or rendering configuration.
This began with the new unified ChatGPT/Codex desktop application. Please investigate as a Windows application regression. I can provide a phone video or screen recording if needed.
