Send button requires multiple presses after latest voice update

Since the latest voice update, the send button has become unresponsive or delayed. I often need to press it about four times before my message is actually sent.

Steps to reproduce

1. Open Codex.
2. Enter a message, including after using voice input.
3. Press the send button once.

Expected behavior

The message should be sent immediately after one press.

Actual behavior

The first several presses do nothing. The message is usually sent only after pressing the button about four times.

This started after the latest voice update and happens consistently.

Triage note (OSS repo check)

This looks like a Codex Desktop composer bug (Send button + post-voice state), not something fixable in the public openai/codex CLI/TUI tree. There is no Send-button / voice-dictation UI here; TUI realtime voice was removed, and this repo only exposes backend realtime APIs.

#34338 looks related but not identical: that one is about missing visible "transcribing..." feedback while Stop/Send is disabled. This report is about needing multiple Send presses after the latest voice update. They may share a post-voice composer disabled/focus/finalizing-state issue.

Missing details that would help triage

• Codex Desktop version (About Codex)
• OS (macOS / Windows / ...)
• Does it happen only right after voice dictation, or also with typed-only messages?
• Does Enter/submit work on the first try when Send needs multiple clicks?
• Any visible disabled/loading state on Send during the failed presses?
