Codex App crashes when I try to access a task #35373

Description

@ilehtoranta

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.721.31836

What subscription do you have?

Pro+

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.26200.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

Codex App crashes when I try to access a task.

I had /goal enabled to work on task described in MD file, step by step. At some point, the app had crashed completely. I can restart the app, all threads are accessible, but this one can't be accessed. It is listed, but when I try to open it, the app hangs and finally crashes without notice.

What steps can reproduce the bug?

The bug can be reproduced by trying to access that specific codex thread. However, getting more information is impossible because it hangs and then crashes.

It seems that if I reopen app, it resumes pursuing the goal and I can see the progress remotely on my phone. But it only displays the recent progress. Only the desktop Codex is crashing and I assume that something in the early output causes Codex desktop to hang/crash.

I can see from the Task Manager that memory usage is sometimes very high, over 4GB. Currently it has settled to 1.6 GB.

What is the expected behavior?

This view should be filled with progress information. But it just hangs and quits.
