Windows desktop app freezes when trying to share a chat as context in codex #36071

Description

@Phil-Spiess

What version of the Codex App are you using (From “About Codex” dialog)?

26.727.11326

What subscription do you have?

Plus

What platform is your computer?

Microsoft Windows NT 10.0.19045.0 x64

What issue are you seeing?

My current workflow is that i use the chat sessions to ideate and think through ideas and plan. Then i use codex to implement the code.

The problem is that when i try to add the chat as context in codex, or when i try to click the switch to work button in the chat when the chat is long the whole app freezes and becomes unresponsive. It never comes back either, i have tried waiting hours it just hangs there and eventually i have to force kill the app. I have tested with a very small chat (1 message) and that works fine but a chat with any length will just freeze.

What steps can reproduce the bug?
