Upgrade requirements

  • Requires macOS 26 or later.
  • Upgrade your Android Network and Tweaks dependencies to 9.0.0 and rebuild your app alongside this Mac update. The new tool protocols are incompatible with 8.0.0 clients and libraries. Keep using Snap-O 8.0.0 if you cannot update macOS or rebuild your Android app yet.

What's new

  • Tools now ship their frontends inside Android libraries. Network and Tweaks load the frontend that matches the installed app, allowing tools to evolve independently of the Mac app.
  • Build custom tools with the Tool Packager Gradle plugin and Android core library. The Gradle plugin bundles the host JavaScript SDK and prepares the frontend automatically.
  • Set your app's tool order with snapo.tool_order manifest metadata.
  • Network and Tweaks have independent Python CLIs, available directly or through snapo network and snapo tweaks.
  • The native tool picker manages app selection and reconnection, and explains when an installed tool needs updating.
  • The Mac app now runs in App Sandbox.
