Visual Math 0.8.1 — Public beta

Visual Math 0.8.1 is a desktop public-beta maintenance update for the 0.8 graph tools.

Fixes

• Remove the unnecessary type assertion reported by the 0.8.0 community scan and an unused equation-conversion import.
• Validate saved graph modes and calculus choices as strings before membership checks. Valid saved formats remain compatible; malformed arrays/objects are rejected explicitly.
• Use permitted punctuation in the plugin description.
• Include complete Spanish documentation in both installation and source packages, with English / 简体中文 / Español navigation and matching download/checksum links.

Verification

194 automated tests, type checking, production build, packaging and 368 browser component checks passed. The local official-rule scan reports zero source errors, three reviewed sentence-case warnings, and no manifest errors or warnings. The unnecessary-assertion and unused-import findings are absent.

Focused native checks used macOS and Obsidian 1.14.4. Hybrid formulas generated a polar rose and an explicit XYZ saddle directly below the editor. Formulas and graphs were inserted together; dragging, rotation, zoom and Save view were exercised. After quitting/restarting Obsidian, both Edit graph panels restored the exact saved expressions, numeric ranges, theta limits and camera angles. The previous settings and demonstration note remained unchanged.

This records a manual upgrade; native marketplace installation, other desktop platforms, mobile, detached windows and arbitrary third-party combinations remain unverified. Other calculus/science workflows retain their separately recorded coverage. GitHub publication and the independent 0.8.1 community review are separate checks. See TEST-REPORT.md.

Hosted main/tag checks on Node.js 22/24 and release workflow 39198660182 passed. All six downloaded assets passed provenance verification against commit 2a064dcfe8afffb2971aabf103d0a058c68a94c5, tag refs/tags/0.8.1, the signing workflow and rejection of self-hosted runners. Both ZIP checksums passed. Runtime attachments match the installer and natively tested plugin byte-for-byte; the complete source archive matches that exact tag.

The independent 0.8.1 / 2a064dc directory review is now Completed. The public listing shows Health Excellent / Review Passed, six passes and two recommendations, without Error or Warning entries. The former assertion/import findings are absent; user-initiated clipboard access and optional download archives remain disclosed. Malware and network-request scans were unavailable; this is not an independent security audit.

Downloads and updates

Use visual-math-editor-0.8.1.zip for installation. Save drafts, disable the plugin, back up its folder, retain data.json, copy the new program files and restart Obsidian. The three individual runtime attachments support the community updater; ZIPs/checksums are optional manual downloads. The complete source ZIP retains GPLv3-only terms with the Obsidian linking exception, third-party notices and fixed dependency sources. Earlier releases/tags remain unchanged.

简体中文：修复多余类型声明、未使用导入、保存参数类型检查及简介标点，并补齐两种下载包内的西班牙语说明。已通过 194 项自动测试、368 项浏览器检查，以及 macOS Obsidian 1.14.4 的极坐标/XYZ 插入、拖动缩放、保存视图、退出重启和重开核对；原有设置与旧演示笔记保留。该结果是手动升级实测，目录审核和商城安装另外记录。
