Can't connect at all to Bangle.js 2 #8007

Hi! I got a Bangle.js 2 a couple of months ago, and it was all good, I'd installed apps, etc. However, now I can't get it to connect up to anything. I've tried removing it from all devices, doing a factory reset (lots, in fact), even putting it into DFU mode, but no matter what I use I can't see it to connect to in any BLE scanner app or the browser, on either my mac or iPhone. Any ideas on what might be wrong would be most welcome! |

I guess you did already, but try going to Settings -> Bluetooth -> Make Connectable -> Yes . Another thing to try, enter the recovery menu by holding the hw button through a reboot until it comes on screen. On recent cutting edge firmwares there will be an entry "Delete BT Pairing", try that. On older firmwares instead keep holding the hw button for a short second when the recovery menu appears to clear BT pairing data. That's just two more things to try. I see you already tried many things. Gordon will probably chime in with suggestions as well. |

Yeah, it's connectable (though always worth asking!) 😄 I don't have the recover menu option (think I'm on 2v29), but now I've tried to hold the button down after the menu appears, to no avail. Not sure if this is relevant, but now when the device boots back up after the recovery menu, I get a |

Hi! The The lack of Bluetooth doesn't sound promising though I have to say. If it were a hardware fault, sometimes pinching the watch hard in the top right corner (between screen+back, which is where the bluetooth aerial is) makes it start broadcasting on Bluetooth temporarily. If that's the case then it would absolutely narrow it down to a hardware issue |
is this from experience? I just tested my Guinea pig Bangle, I removed the antenna sticker. The spring mechanism by it self is enough to get some signal, not very strong, but enough for a connection if the watch is close to the phone/PC. |

Yes, it is. At least on one or two I've had them work that way. I've also had success on one by taking it to bits, adjusting the spring slightly, and putting it back. Not to say it's like that on all of them, but if doing something physical solves the problem temporarily then it's a good sign it's a hardware issue. |

Just checking - have you made sure that it's not paired to your mac or iphone, as well as making sure it's not connecting to your phone by default, blocking connection to your mac... |

Thanks for checking this! That all looks good. Please can you try turning Bluetooth off/back on on your phone/macbook (or maybe even a restart)? It seems strange it'd happen on both but I've seen issues on Mac/iOS where the bluetooth gets confused refuses to 'see' bluetooth devices until it restarts. Please can you also look at the bluetooth icon in the top right of your Bangle? Is it blue, or grey? |

The icon is grey at all times... No difference after restarting iPhone, will check laptop later.

When this happened to me I found success deleting the Bangle.js from the device, rebooting the phone and reconnecting |

Did it stop working suddenly after a jolt or drop maybe? Could be something disconnected/dislodged inside if that's the case... |
