Comunicating with whistleblowers by email?

I have being asked by recipients if is possible to let globaleaks send any email notification by email in case that whisltleblower indicate the contact information.

Do you know if there is any possiblity to do that. And if there isn't why is not implemented? (just to inform my users about this)

Hello @Ridon77 , thank you for your question.

In the context of GlobaLeaks the community prefers to not implement such a feature in relation to the risks involved.

While globaleaks can safely enable a recipient to collect an email address or phone number from the whistleblower to be used for emergency reasons using it automatically involves significant risks:

• the system will leave traces on a device (the mailbox of the user, the phone of the user) to which possibly the user will have no longer access and it wont be possibility for the system to control the data retention policy of that communication
• any system involved in the email notification or call will know that the whistleblower reached out to the organization and any communication sent will be available for interception
