Possible Causes and Solutions:
-
CM4 Carrier Switch Position:

- SD/eMMC position: When booting from SD card or internal eMMC
- USB Boot position: Only when flashing firmware or OS to CM4
- Verify the switch is in the correct position:
-
OS Flashing Issues:
- Verify the OS was correctly flashed to the SD card
- Use Raspberry Pi Imager for flashing
- Check that the SD card is in good working condition
Issue: System doesn't complete the boot process.
Common Cause: Custom username and password settings in Raspberry Pi Imager.
Solution:
- Avoid setting custom username and password for RetroPie or Lakka images
- These custom settings can break the image
Note: If you've already set custom credentials, reflash the image without custom settings.
If you're still experiencing issues after trying these solutions, consider:
- Double-checking all hardware connections
