Full Changelog: v3.6.9...v3.7.1
v3.6.9 — UI/UX Overhaul, Top Mode, Grid Rework & Dev Mode
This release consolidates a large stretch of work that hadn't reached GitHub since v3.5.4 — UI/UX polish, a Map View overhaul, a renamed and improved presentation mode, a rebuilt grid system, and a new Developer Mode.
Highlights
Visual polish
- New violet accent theme, entrance/camera animations on board open, staggered card and connection reveal
- Grid system rebuilt from dots to a major/minor line grid (Blender/Houdini-style blueprint look) across both Board View and Map View
- Fixed a grid rendering bug where zooming out caused lines to visually merge into a white wash
Top Mode (formerly Mood Lock)
- Renamed and reworked distraction-free mode — press
Tab(orCtrl+Shift+F) to hide all UI - Minimal hover-reveal chrome (just title + window controls, not the full toolbar)
- Persistent on-screen indicator so it's always clear when Top Mode is active
- Window can now resize much smaller while Top Mode or Auto-hide Toolbar is active
New Developer Mode (Settings → Developer)
- FPS / render-time overlay
- Card and connection ID overlay
- Manual diagnostics trigger
- Bulk test-card generator for stress-testing
- One-click debug-info export for bug reports
Fixes
- Legacy
.kanvazfile format migration (older files now open correctly instead of failing silently) - Recovery dialog no longer appears on normal app restarts
- Drag-drop and paste now arrange multiple images in a grid instead of stacking
- WCAG contrast fixes for text readability
- Grid snap added for resizing (Settings → Behavior)
- Rebuilt the automated port-alignment test suite to run reliably across platforms

Full audit and bugfix pass — 12 issues found and fixed.
Critical Fix
- Undo no longer wipes the board. Previously, undoing all changes after loading a file would clear the entire board instead of returning to the loaded state. Fixed — undo now correctly returns to the state your board was in when you opened it.
Major Fixes
- Arrow-key nudge is now undoable. Moving cards with arrow keys was previously invisible to Ctrl+Z.
- Note text editing is now undoable. Typing in a note card and clicking away now creates an undo step.
- Send to back (right-click menu) is now undoable.
Settings That Previously Did Nothing — Now Work
- Autosave interval — changing the seconds value in Settings now actually changes the timer (was stuck at 30s).
- Default card width — changing the pixel value now actually affects how large dropped images appear (was stuck at 600px).
- Show recent on startup — turning this off now actually hides the startup screen (was broken due to a timing issue).
- Always on top — pressing T now saves the setting so it persists after you restart the app.
Minor Fixes
- Deleting a card now pauses any playing video/audio before removing it.
- Corrupted settings file now logs a warning instead of failing silently.
- Added missing shortcuts to README: A (annotate), Ctrl+A (select all), Ctrl+Shift+S (Save As).
