v3.6.9 — UI/UX Overhaul, Top Mode, Grid Rework & Dev Mode
This release consolidates a large stretch of work that hadn't reached GitHub since v3.5.4 — UI/UX polish, a Map View overhaul, a renamed and improved presentation mode, a rebuilt grid system, and a new Developer Mode.
Highlights
Visual polish
- New violet accent theme, entrance/camera animations on board open, staggered card and connection reveal
- Grid system rebuilt from dots to a major/minor line grid (Blender/Houdini-style blueprint look) across both Board View and Map View
- Fixed a grid rendering bug where zooming out caused lines to visually merge into a white wash
Top Mode (formerly Mood Lock)
- Renamed and reworked distraction-free mode — press
Tab(orCtrl+Shift+F) to hide all UI - Minimal hover-reveal chrome (just title + window controls, not the full toolbar)
- Persistent on-screen indicator so it's always clear when Top Mode is active
- Window can now resize much smaller while Top Mode or Auto-hide Toolbar is active
New Developer Mode (Settings → Developer)
- FPS / render-time overlay
- Card and connection ID overlay
- Manual diagnostics trigger
- Bulk test-card generator for stress-testing
- One-click debug-info export for bug reports
Fixes
- Legacy
.kanvazfile format migration (older files now open correctly instead of failing silently) - Recovery dialog no longer appears on normal app restarts
- Drag-drop and paste now arrange multiple images in a grid instead of stacking
- WCAG contrast fixes for text readability
- Grid snap added for resizing (Settings → Behavior)
- Rebuilt the automated port-alignment test suite to run reliably across platforms
