Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.7-beta
Fixed
- Self-update now re-executes
scripts/self-update.shafter checking out the target tag, so build/restart steps run the script from the new revision. Without this, updater fixes (including 0.5.6 recreate/health-check) never applied to the update that installed them. - Post-update readiness waits for
/api/versionto report the target version, not only for Dockerrunning.
Fixes the chicken-and-egg reported on #5.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.6-beta
Fixed
- One-click updates no longer leave the bridge stopped after rebuilding: the helper recreates containers with
up -d --remove-orphansand verifies the app is running, failing loudly with logs if it is not. - The Web UI reports a stalled update after three minutes with the host recovery command and the tail of
self-update.loginstead of waiting silently.
Follow-up to #4.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.5-beta
Fixed
- Connected hubs (Matter fabrics) no longer fall back to a bare Fabric N when the controller sends no label and the vendor is unknown; they now show a generic Hub (vendor 0x...) name.
- Expanded the known Matter vendor map.
Addresses #4.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.4-beta
Fixed
- The isolated one-click update helper now installs development build tools explicitly before compiling the bridge.
- This resolves
tsc: not foundwhen the helper inherits the production app environment.
Use this release instead of 0.5.3-beta for the corrected one-click update flow.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.3-beta
Fixed
- One-click updates no longer fail when Git rejects the container-mounted checkout as having dubious ownership.
- Updates now run through an isolated helper using the checkout's real host path, preventing Docker Compose from resolving runtime data mounts under the container-only
/projectpath.
Existing installations affected by the updater bug require one manual update to this release. Subsequent one-click updates use the corrected flow.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.2-beta
Fixed
- Update checks now refresh within five minutes instead of retaining stale GitHub release data for one hour.
- Hidden update controls no longer appear when no actionable update is available.
This release ensures the update notification and Update now controls accurately reflect the latest published version.
Matter Cameras Bridge 0.5.1-beta
Added
- Optional pre-built GHCR image install path and image publishing workflows.
- Configurable repository source for Web UI update notifications.
- Refreshed Web UI branding and locally hosted interface icons.
Changed
- Upgraded matter.js from 0.17.3 to 0.17.9 with Matter 1.6 models and session/subscription reliability fixes.
- Added explicit Matter 1.6 CapabilityMinima for multi-camera aggregators.
- Improved structure-change signaling, occupancy events, and LiveView-only stream usage advertising.
- HEIC remains unadvertised until an encoder is available; non-JPEG snapshot requests now return ConstraintError.
Fixed
- Root BasicInformation is initialized with the correct software version, avoiding SmartThings' persistent firmware-update indicator.
- New installations use project PID 0xCA42 to avoid unrelated SmartThings Edge driver fingerprint collisions.
- Camera creation, duplication, and bulk import now avoid timestamp ID collisions and duplicate submits.
Existing pairings retain their stored Matter identity. The new PID applies to new installations or after an intentional Matter factory reset.
v0.5.0-beta
Added
- Multi-fabric (multi-admin) support — the bridge can be paired with several Matter ecosystems at once (SmartThings + Apple Home + Google Home, …):
- Pair another hub on the dashboard opens a 15-minute Enhanced Commissioning window with a fresh one-time QR / manual pairing code.
- Connected hubs list shows every fabric with its controller-set label (or known ecosystem name from the vendor ID) via
GET /api/fabrics. - Remove fabric per hub (
DELETE /api/fabrics/:fabricIndex) — the other hubs keep working; removing the last fabric returns the bridge to pairing mode.
Fixed
- Stale-fabric crash recovery no longer wipes all Matter storage (and every other hub's pairing) when a fabric-not-found error follows an intentional fabric removal.
- Bridged device
serialNumbertruncated to 32 characters (Matter Basic Information limit).

v0.4.2-beta
Install
git clone https://github.com/patricktd/MatterCameras.git
cd MatterCameras
bash scripts/setup.shSee docs/INSTALL.md.
Changed
- One-click Update now is enabled by default in Docker installs (no separate compose overlay or “How to update” link).
setup.shrequires a git clone so self-update works out of the box.
Fixed
- Web UI self-update failed silently when the app image lacked
bash; update output is logged todata/self-update.log. - GitHub update check falls back to version tags when no formal GitHub Release is published.
