A maintenance release, mainly from three reports by henryiii.
-
Windows: two pieces of C++ that strict compilers refuse are gone, arrays taking their size while the program runs, and the words
and, orandnotin place of their symbols. They stopped conda-forge from building plotext (236). -
macOS: the plot came out empty when the machine's alphabet setting was missing: plotext now turns it into utf-8 bytes itself, on every machine (237).
-
Large numbers: plots of large values stopped with an error about
NaN. Every position is now held with twice the precision (238). The same loss of precision was naming the wrong day on a date axis, which is fixed with it. -
Labels: large numbers on the ticks now reach the exponential form, and all the labels of a ruler share one form and one number of decimals.
-
Printing:
show()now flushes python's output before drawing, and the plot's own after, so a print before the plot comes out before it, and a print after comes out after.
The whole list is in the change log, and the credits page now says where AI helped.
