| Symptom | What to do |
|---|---|
| Black screen then shutdown | Confirm UEFI mode, disable Secure Boot if required, try 1080p/720p, and inspect launch logs. |
| Play stays disabled | Wait for mounting; verify extension/layout and required BIOS; reinsert stale removable media. |
| Bad file descriptor / broken pipe | Keep source media mounted, avoid unplugging during copy/play, then reboot once. |
| No cover | Add cover.jpg/png or wait for lookup; question-mark art is an intentional fallback. |
| Wrong game name | Use clean names; use Title (Year) for movies; retain disc IDs/descriptors. |
| Controller disappears | Unplug/replug once, then use Controller Setup if it has no known mapping. |
| Audio uses PC speaker | Turn on TV/receiver and reboot or reselect the HDMI/DisplayPort sink. |
| Movie flashes | Copy internally to rule out USB speed; MP4/MKV is generally safer than TS/M2TS. |
| Optical load is slow | Tens of seconds can be normal; USB/SD/internal SSD is much faster. |
Use Copy Logs to write current logs to mounted removable media. Per-game launch logs normally live below:
/var/kazeta/saves/PROFILE/GAME-ID/.kazeta/var/
Remote maintenance:
ssh gamer@PLAYFUSION_IP
systemctl --failedWhen reporting a bug, include PlayFusion version, hardware/GPU, display resolution, runtime name, game/media format, exact error text, and the session log. Do not upload BIOS files, keys, commercial game data, or credentials.
