The Team

Our team consists of Ross Crawford, Reuben Docea and Gergely Pogany, 3 Biomedical engineering Meng students from Glasgow University. Work has been distributed throughout the team in order to efficiently make use of the time available to us.

Hardware

The original theoretical design process was carried out collectively. After this tasks were distributed to speed up production.

Gantt Chart

Below is a Gantt chart detailing the intended schedule for this project. This chart begins on February 15th as prior to this an alternative project was being pursued which had to be abandoned due to hardware limitations.

Plan Implementation

Due to the nature of the task we are undertaking the majority of issues are unpredictable. As a result aside from the pre-set plan and task distribution further aims and work was designated on a day by day basis during brief agile meetings each morning.

User Stories

The functionality of this project is very much embedded in one set goal, sorting glass in real time, as a result the number of potential user stories is slightly reduced compared to alternate projects. Throughout these user stories it is assumed a user is a person who is attempting to recycle glass and an owner is a person who has installed the system in the recycling point or other location.

Epic:

As the owner I wish to interact with the Menu in order to calibrate the machine appropriately.

Stories:

As a new owner of the system I want to set the separation angle so that the bottles are sorted to the locations I desire.

As an owner I want to increase the halt time so that bottles are not moved back to the centre before they exit the tube.

As an owner I want to decrease the halt time so that the motor responds quicker and I can sort a greater number of bottles faster.

As a long term owner I want to change the rest angle to correct for the motor moving out of alignment.

As a new owner I want to set the rest angle so the system can sort glass in an unconventional alignment.

**Epic: **

As the owner I wish to see live feedback as I alter menu settings to aid me in selecting the correct values.

Stories:

As an owner I want to be able to see live what the rest angle I am setting will look like in order to make setting it easier.

As an owner I want to be able to see live what the separation angle I am setting will look like in order to make setting it easier.

As an owner I want to be stopped from setting dangerous menu settings to avoid damage to the system.

**Epic: **

As a user I wish to have my glass classified and sorted to the appropriate location

Stories:

As a user at a recycling point I wish to have my bottles accurately identified to prevent waste contamination.

As a user I want sort my bottles to be automatically sorted based on colour to make it easier to prevent this contamination.

As an owner I want to only activate the classification system when the bottle is inserted to conserve power.

As an owner I wish to have the glass illuminated properly when I insert a bottle in order to remove any inconsistencies in classification.
