What's New

Fixes

  • The Tracks button no longer hides behind the search field — on some window widths the search field could stretch across the top bar and cover the Tracks link, most often while a scan was running. The search field now shrinks inside its own space instead.

Improvements

  • Top-bar section links show their labels only on wide windows — below 1200px the links appear as icons alone, which leaves the search field noticeably wider at most window sizes. The text labels (Tracks, Albums, Artists, Favorites, Playlists, Settings) return once the window is wide enough to show them without crowding the search.

What's New

Fixes

  • Stream-ripped songs now play in every browser — some files downloaded from streaming services are MP4 audio wearing an .mp3 name. Flow indexed them as MP3, so they failed to play on Firefox and got skipped with "file unavailable" — sometimes silently working in other browsers. They're now detected at scan time and repaired automatically into a playable copy.

Updating

  • Libraries indexed by earlier versions heal in one step — run docker exec <container> python -m app.heal once after updating, then trigger Rescan (Settings → Library). Affected songs are listed by the command and repaired on the scan. New files are handled automatically from now on.

What's New

Fixes

  • Skip notices now name the reason — when a song can't be played, the message tells you what happened (network hiccup, decoding problem, or file missing) instead of a plain "file unavailable". Playback behavior is unchanged; the goal is making intermittent skips diagnosable from the message alone.

What's New

Fixes

  • The "Last scan" time in Settings stays correct — it no longer resets to "never" after rescanning your library.
  • Smoother top bar on small mobile devices — no more stray search icon or squeezed menu button.
  • Updates now arrive reliably — some devices could stay stuck on an old version after the server was updated. A simple reload now always brings you to the latest version.

Improvements

  • Home rows scroll in a single line — Recently played, Recently added, and Playlists no longer wrap onto a second row.
  • Cleaner top bar on phones — the layout no longer shifts around while a scan is running.

1.2.0

What's New

Features

  • Add the playing song to your favorites right from the player bar: A heart button now sits next to the song title at the bottom of the screen. One tap adds the song to your Favorites — tap again to remove it. No need to open Now Playing or find the track in a list first. Works with a mouse and on touch screens alike.

Improvements

  • More room for long song titles: Titles in the player bar now get noticeably more space before being cut off with "…", and the playback progress bar stretches to use the width it has. The play/pause controls still sit right in the middle.

What's New

Features

  • Play on click: Clicking a track title now plays it. Hold a modifier key (Cmd/Ctrl/Shift) to build a multi-track selection instead.
  • Add the playing song to a playlist directly from the Now Playing takeover.
  • One undo for every edit in Organize — changes group into a single, predictable undo step.

Fixes

  • Fixed the iOS search field staying zoomed in after tapping the spotlight.
  • Fixed the Space key not typing in the Add Tracks search field.

Other

  • Removed the missing-track-number review pill from Organize.
  • Dependency updates.

Flow turns the music you already own into a private streaming service for your network.

  • Library. Drop MP3, FLAC, M4A, or OGG files into flow/music/. Flow reads album, artist, and track information from tags, indexes untagged files by filename, and automatically picks up new music. Broken containers are repaired during scanning when possible; otherwise, files are skipped and logged.
  • Playback. Gapless playback between tracks. Volume normalization across your library, enabled by default. A server-side queue that survives reloads, with drag-to-reorder and Play Next. One search field finds everything.
  • Interface. Album and artist pages with cover art, playlists with custom covers, and an Organize view for bulk metadata editing. Install it to your iPhone Home Screen and keep listening in the background.
  • Security. Optional, rate-limited password authentication. Leave it disabled and Flow is open to devices on your network.
  • Docker. Root-owned host folders (common on NAS) work as-is: the container prepares its data folder on start and then runs unprivileged — no manual chown needed. Re-pull the image if you pulled before this re-release.
