Release list
Salamandra 0.4.1
What is new
- The About screen shows the device version (bcdDevice) next to the USB ids. The
showcommand prints it too. - Model pages for the Cobra and the Invader explain that the same USB id can cover models with other sensors, and ask for the version in test reports.
- Reverse engineering notes: list of mice of the official software, LED writer and button action bytes.
Notes
- The version is informational. The model is still chosen by the USB id only.
- Models other than the M901-1 are untested on hardware.
Salamandra 0.4.0
What is new
- Mouse picker: with more than one supported mouse connected, the app shows a picker in the sidebar. The shortcut service follows the chosen mouse.
- Reverse engineering notes of the official software: LED of families 1, 2 and 4, macro writer and button mapping per model.
Notes
- The picker was tested with a fake mouse only. Two real mice of different models are still untested.
- Two mice of the same model show as a single entry.
- Models other than the M901-1 are untested on hardware.
Salamandra 0.3.0
What is new
- M908 Impact: the eight LED modes of the official software (breathing, rainbow, steady, wave, alternating, reactive, blinking, off), with the LED speed in the same direction as the other models. The LED group at
0x446is written before the LED on this model only. - App: on macOS the tray icon is now a monochrome template that follows the light or dark menu bar. The tray menu follows the app language.
- CLI and MCP:
ledandmouse_set_ledaccept the new modes and refuse them on models that do not have them.
Models other than the M901-1 are still untested on a physical mouse. Back up before writing and report the result with the "I tested a model" issue template.
Install
Installers for the app and archives for the CLI and the MCP server are attached below. See the README for the install steps.
Salamandra 0.2.0
What's new
- More mice. Support for the Redragon M711 Cobra, M908 Impact and M719 Invader. These three are untested on the physical mouse: they were mapped from public documentation and checked against the vendor software's tables. The app shows a banner for them and the command line prints a warning before writing. Writes go straight to the mouse, so make a backup first.
- Logo. New app icon, favicon and README header.
- Command line and MCP server.
salamandraandsalamandra-mcpnow ship in this release, one archive per system, with no Tauri, Node.js or WebKit. Use--model <id>orSALAMANDRA_MODELwhen more than one supported mouse is plugged in. - Linux. The udev rule now covers all four supported models.

Salamandra v0.1.0
First downloadable version. It configures the Redragon M901-1 Perdition 2: lighting, DPI, polling, profiles, buttons and macros, straight in the mouse memory.
Test version: tested with the mouse on macOS only. On Windows and Linux it builds and passes the tests, but nobody has tested it with the mouse yet. If you do, tell us in an issue.

Before changing anything on the mouse, back it up from the About screen.
