Gitwall 0.5.3

Choose a tag to compare

@prokopsimek prokopsimek released this 05 Oct 05:34

Switching an account between a personal access token and signing in now keeps its repositories, presets and widgets. Add Account notices an account that is already connected and offers to replace its sign-in, and the account menu has "Sign in with GitHub…" and "Use a Token Instead…".

An account that watches no repositories now says so, with a shortcut to choose them, instead of leaving its presets empty. Settings › Repositories shows the list of the account you select.

Signed with a Developer ID and notarized by Apple. This build does not update itself; the Mac App Store version does.

Gitwall 0.4.1

Choose a tag to compare

@prokopsimek prokopsimek released this 11 Sep 15:26

Gitwall shows open pull requests, merge requests and issues from GitHub and GitLab in your menu bar and in desktop widgets.

What's new in 0.4.1

  • Archived repositories are gone from every list. Nothing in an archived repository can be merged, closed or reviewed, so its pull requests and issues only padded the queue. They are dropped where they are fetched, on both GitHub and GitLab, and the repository picker no longer offers archived repositories — one you already watch stays in the list so you can untick it. There is no setting to bring them back.
  • Launch at login is on right after you install the app. Gitwall lives in the menu bar and refreshes in the background, so it is only useful while it is running. It switches the login item on once, at the first launch; if you turn it off in Settings › General, it stays off. An existing installation is left exactly as you set it.

One thing to expect once

If you watch a repository that has been archived, its items disappear from the next sync. Gitwall reads a vanished item as closed, so that one sync can deliver a burst of "closed" notifications for it. It happens once per such account.

Install

This direct download does not update itself. The Mac App Store version (in review) updates automatically.

Gitwall 0.4.0

@prokopsimek prokopsimek released this 11 Sep 14:21

Gitwall shows open pull requests, merge requests and issues from GitHub and GitLab in your menu bar and in desktop widgets.

What's new in 0.4.0

This release is about pull requests that coding agents open for you.

  • A draft that asks for your review stays in the queue. GitHub Copilot and the Claude and Codex GitHub apps open a draft pull request, assign you and request your review, and they cannot mark it ready themselves. Waiting for my review used to hide all of that. Now a draft that names you as a reviewer stays in the preset and in the menu bar count, while drafts nobody asked you about stay hidden. The preset editor has a toggle for it.
  • Filter by author. Any of these authors and None of these authors sit next to the label fields in the preset editor. Logins are matched case-insensitively and a trailing [bot] is ignored, so copilot-swe-agent, cursor or renovate all work. A desktop widget can now show only what your agents opened, or everything except the dependency bots.
  • A review GitHub asks of your team counts as a review for you. A request addressed to @org/team used to disappear. It now reaches the review queue of everyone in that team. It needs a token that may read your team memberships: a classic token with read:org. Without it nothing changes and nothing breaks.

Gitwall 0.3.0

Choose a tag to compare

@prokopsimek prokopsimek released this 11 Sep 10:44

Gitwall shows open pull requests, merge requests and issues from GitHub and GitLab in your menu bar and in desktop widgets.

What's new in 0.3.0

  • Presets for every account, out of the box. Each account you add gets three presets: pull requests (merge requests on GitLab) assigned to you, issues assigned to you, and pull requests waiting for your review. They are ordinary presets, so you can change their filters or delete them. Accounts you already have get them once when you update; presets you delete afterwards do not come back. Settings › Accounts › … › Add Default Presets restores any that are missing.
  • One shared preset. A new installation starts with All open across all accounts; the per-account presets replace the old shared My pull requests and Waiting for my review. Existing presets are left untouched.
  • GitLab reviews you already did no longer wait for you. A reviewer who commented or requested changes is not listed as waiting any more; a re-requested review puts the merge request back.
  • Removing an account removes its presets. Before, a preset scoped to that account silently widened to every account.

Gitwall 0.2.0

Choose a tag to compare

@prokopsimek prokopsimek released this 11 Sep 08:37

Gitwall shows open pull requests, merge requests and issues from GitHub and GitLab in your menu bar and in desktop widgets.

What's new in 0.2.0

  • Sign in with GitHub or GitLab. No more copying tokens: GitHub.com uses the device flow (you confirm a short code in the browser), GitLab.com a secure sign-in window. You sign in once; Gitwall refreshes the connection in the background. Personal access tokens still work, and self-hosted GitHub Enterprise Server or GitLab can use a client ID you register there.
  • First-run walkthrough from an account to repositories, views, notifications and a widget on your desktop.
  • Token expiry warnings. Gitwall tells you a week before a personal access token expires, and an account that needs attention offers to sign in again while it keeps showing what it had.
  • GitLab requests now send the token as a bearer credential, which covers both personal access tokens and OAuth.
