Markdown hyperlinks

Markdown links such as [link text](https://example.com) now become native, clickable, editable Word hyperlinks.

  • Works in paragraphs, headings, blockquotes, lists, and table cells.
  • Preserves bold, italic, inline code, line breaks, and optional title tooltips in link labels.
  • Supports reference links, angle-bracket autolinks, mailto links, relative file destinations, and linked inline images.
  • Preserves custom template hyperlink styles and provides a theme-aware default when needed.
  • Updates syntax discovery, managed skill guidance, documentation, and the editable showcase.

Empty destinations and document-local bookmark links remain unsupported. Bare URLs remain plain text. Conversion does not fetch link destinations.

Hyperlink creation uses a small, isolated OOXML helper while python-docx lacks a public creation API.

Validation

  • 195 tests pass.
  • Lint, formatting, and type checks pass.
  • Source and wheel distributions pass metadata validation.
  • Editable and installed-wheel skill lifecycle smoke tests pass.
  • GitHub CI passes on Windows and Linux with Python 3.11 through 3.14, including LibreOffice rendering and package smoke tests.
