Device setup
Everything is configured on the device — there is no web page. The three buttons under the screen do all the work.
On the very first boot (and after a factory reset) the device asks where readings will come from, before it starts Bluetooth:

- Press A (left button) for xDrip (Android).
- Press C (right button) for xDrip4iOS (iOS).
The choice is stored and is not asked again until the next factory reset. You can still change it later from the menu (Data source). After that the splash screen shows the version and the selected source:

Now set up your phone: xDrip (Android) or
xDrip4iOS (iOS). Until the phone connects, the main page shows
--- instead of a value.

- A (left) / C (right) — previous / next page.
- B (middle), short press — Snooze on the display pages; on the log page it opens the menu.
- Hold B — go back / cancel in the menu.
- In the menu the icons above the buttons show what each does: up / select / down (or minus / ok / plus while editing a value).
Press A/C to cycle main → big glucose → clock → log.
| Main — value, trend arrow, mini-graph, minutes-ago box | ![]() |
| Big glucose | ![]() |
| Analog clock | ![]() |
| Log — connection events; press B here for the menu | ![]() |
The Bluetooth icon at the top shows the link:
- blinking red — not connected
- blinking blue — connected, authenticating
- steady blue — connected and authenticated
The minutes-ago box turns white after 5 minutes and red after 15 minutes without a fresh reading.
From the log page, press B to open the menu:

- Data source — xDrip (Android) or xDrip4iOS (changing it reboots the device).
- Units — mg/dL or mmol/L.
- Color thresholds — yellow (warning) and red (out-of-range) low/high levels.
- Alarms — warning/alarm thresholds, sounds, snooze and no-reading timeout.
- Display — on-screen options.
- Set time — see below.
- Bluetooth — link options.
- Factory reset — clears settings and re-asks the data source on next boot.

Edit Year / Month / Day / Hour / Minute with the −/+ buttons, confirming each with the middle button; hold B to cancel.
Whether the clock survives a reset depends on the core and the data source:
- Core2 — has a battery-backed RTC, so the clock is kept across resets in either mode.
-
Basic / Fire — no RTC, so the clock is lost on every power-off:
- xDrip4iOS re-syncs the time automatically when the phone reconnects.
- xDrip (Android) has no time sync — re-enter it here after each reset. (The "minutes ago" counter still works from the internal timer.)
