Failure to report proper upload statistics on private tracker

What is the problem

Since upgrading to 4.0 qBittorrent has failed to properly update the tracker how much upload I've actually contributed. This has happened on every single torrent since I've upgraded to 4.0. As you can also see in the screenshots the torrents had been seeding for 2+ days so it isn't even a timing or site caching issue.

What is the expected behavior

Upload from qBit client matches exactly what the tracker has.

Download a torrent and watch the upload credit on a private tracker.

After struggling with this issue for almost two weeks I've uninstalled qBittorrent and reinstalled uTorrent 2.2.1 and the problem has immediately corrected itself. uTorrent reports correct statistics down to the megabyte within 30 minutes.

Yes, happens to me with BTN only. Uploaded data loss is happening during first and second announces (seed time is correct), with fast downloaded files. After that all announces work normal. Now, right after download is complete and announced to tracker, I click pause and then resume, then no upload is lost between that announce and next one.

Having this issue on two different private trackers not listed here (TL and IPT). SSL on/off does not appear to make a different.
The announce contains the correct amount of uploaded;checked via packet capture on non-SSL. Announce only happens after every 1hr after the download is complete. QB also has "reannounce in: 0".
IPT starts returning "duplicate torrent" errors on the 3rd and future announce.

libtorrent 1.1.5 built with CXXFLAGS='-DBOOST_ASIO_HAS_STD_CHRONO' --disable-debug from autotool.
qbittorrent 4.0.3 built with --disable-gui

So I having this issue with another private tracker, other than BTN. But, for example, PTP works normal.

i just noticed same problem here in QB 4.0.3 on win 10, reannounce in: 0, so what is the default reannounce time ? any way to add reannounce in settings ? and pausing and resuming the torrent does not fix the problem, basically QB 4.0.3 fails to announce

It's announcing, just fails in displaying it. See 7868

It is more than just not displaying it but I would venture a guess it is tracker related and not client related.
I have no idea what software these trackers run on or even if they are open source so it is a blind guess.

I mean, I can see in my profile, for example on PTP tracker, that my stats are updated as usual, with a period of reannounce time as usual. But I am just simple user, so maybe I don't really know what I am talking about. And "Reannounce In: 0" wasn't the case before 4.0.x

@Thefrank so during the download no announces are made? Does the "message" column in the tracker tab so anything? After the announce is made do the stats show correctly on the tracker?

@sledgehammer999 can I answer this regarding BTN? With fast downloading files, like less then 30 min, no announces during the download are made, has always been this way with BTN. "Message" column in the tracker tab always "Working". After the announce all stats are correct except amount of upload. But this "data loss" happening before first and second announces (after download), after that upload stats are correct, I mean beside what already been "lost".

Kind of find a "fix" for this. Right after download is complete and announced to tracker, click pause and then resume. Then no upload is lost before that announce and the next one. Weird.

I think this issue got split into two different things: the reannounce thing and the uploaded stats thing.
I had stopped using qBittorrent on the tracker that I was having issues with so I will reexamine the issue when I get some time in the next day or so but from what I recall:

• No announces were made during the download as the torrent went from start -> complete inside the window of one announce.
• Packets sent to the tracker (non-SSL) had the correct uploaded and downloaded amount
• The tracker shows the correct amount of uploaded and downloaded at the time of complete
• Tracker message column in webui had nothing (it was blank) and status column was "Working" until the announcement after complete then the tracker would return "duplicate torrent" errors. Any uploaded amount at this point would not be reflected by the tracker

That was likely less than helpful but I will be able to look into my issue again when I have some free time. This time I will also keep/post packet captures. I am still using the same libtorrent + qBittorrent build as from earlier.
