rPlayHub for Linux 0.1.3
First Linux release of rPlayHub: the native SDL2 + Dear ImGui client, in the style of the macOS app, with the engine alongside it. Replaces 0.1.2, published earlier today, whose GUI exited on the first error the engine reported (opening the Apps tab was enough); every engine error is now a toast, and rplayhub --help exists.
Install (Ubuntu 22.04 or later, Debian 12 or later, x86_64):
sudo apt install ./rplayhub_0.1.3-1_amd64.deb
rplayhub-fetch-ddi # once: Apple's Developer Disk Image, which the engine mounts for youThen plug the iPhone in, start rplayhub-engine and launch "rPlayHub" (or run rplayhub). The engine runs as you, no root, over its own userspace TCP/IP stack; it talks to the phone through the distribution's usbmuxd, which the package pulls in. doc/LINUX.md has the details, the build from source and the troubleshooting.
What is in it
- The mirror: live HEVC screen with the exact-crop bezel, notch or Dynamic Island, rotation, click-to-tap and drag-to-swipe, and the phone's sound. The decoder is FFmpeg with the RVRA patch, built in, because no distribution FFmpeg decodes this stream correctly under motion.
- macOS-style window: borderless chrome with traffic lights, a unified toolbar, the device sidebar, and a pop-out phone window with rounded corners on X11.
- 3D twin and fold view: the device in 3D with its real back housing, and a hinged foldable preview.
- Inspector: Settings (appearance, text size, accessibility switches, simulated location), Report (crash and diagnostic logs, with categories, search, download and export) and Info (device cards, Apps with icons, install, launch, kill and uninstall, Profiles, a Files browser over the media, crash, documents and container services, and a live Console over syslog).
- Control strip: home, rotate, screenshot, record, sleep, restart, shut down.
Verified on an iPhone 13 running iOS 27.0 over USB on Ubuntu 22.04: the engine binds the phone unprivileged, the screen and sound mirror live in the GUI.
Requirements: iOS 27 or later on the iPhone, with Developer Mode on. On an older iPhone, use rPlay, which supports every iOS version.
SHA-256 of the package: a58bfbed2cc606147a365de5ecf13bf30af102308c9d3d8c7d7e4f0b44a9eddd
Built with scripts/package-deb.sh from commit dc502ae. The macOS app is unchanged and stays at 0.1.1.
