Autonomous Budget now supports private account journals, investments and wealth tracking alongside the existing budget planner. Use either module independently or connect them with explicit balance allocations.

What's included

  • Checking, savings, cash, credit, loan and investment accounts; expense subcategories, splits, refunds, transfers, recurring entries, classification rules and statement reconciliation.
  • Multicurrency journals, historical exchange rates, portfolio currency pockets and explicit cross-currency common-budget planning rates.
  • Reviewable CSV, OFX/QFX and QIF imports, duplicate detection, CSV reports and validated JSON backup/restore.
  • Average/FIFO portfolios, coupled securities/cash operations, acquisition-cost transfers, dividends, splits, dated property valuations, bonds and loan schedules.
  • Optional Lunch Flow Personal API synchronization, Yahoo/CoinGecko quotes and Frankfurter exchange rates. Keys remain server-side and are excluded from application exports.
  • Named account sharing, private dashboard cards, opt-in native account sensors, and privacy-aware linked budgets.
  • English/French desktop and mobile interfaces, optional module visibility, reports and printable views.

Existing installations

Update to 1.0.0 in HACS, restart Home Assistant and refresh open browser tabs. Take a Home Assistant backup before upgrading. The migration preserves existing budget IDs, cards, entities and calculations, keeps the original store and creates a pre-migration JSON backup. Negative reserves and income-day expense exclusion are unchanged. Accounts and connections are optional.

Previously published budget entities become unavailable when their linked account data is private, retaining their IDs. Publishing native account amounts deliberately makes those values accessible through Home Assistant entity states.

Validation

151 Python tests, 15 real Home Assistant browser tests, frontend checks, hassfest and HACS validation. Keyless Frankfurter, CoinGecko and Yahoo adapters also passed live smoke requests.

Lunch Flow: representative Personal API responses and failure cases are tested. Validation against a real bank connection remains pending until an authorized test key is available.
